Hey Steff,
My kids both started school full-time this year. (I still can't believe the "little" one is in kindergarten!) I do free-lance work and don't have a job right now which is great in terms of getting stuff done around the house and finding time to exercise, BUT I've always had a problem of not really noticing food that I eat when no one is around. We don't really keep chips and cookies in the house, but I could just as easily (and hapily)pick at stuff like cereal and crackers and pretzels and cheese and peanut butter. So I DON'T! If I wander into the kitchen I make myself grab a glass of water and then I walk out! If I walk back in I grab carrots or an apple, and then I don't go back unless it's meal time. It helps to track the calories you're burning through exercise. If I know that I burned 250 calories in exercise I hate to see it get negated by an unsatisfying snack. Poof! Like I never exercised! Good luck with the temptations!

Hi, Steff, and good evening to you!

I'm the queen of pick-a-snack when I'm home; it's much more difficult to stick to plan on less structured "days off". (Hey, don't I deserve to munch on a day off?) The best soltuion is to keep busy, and for me, to eat healthy planned small snacks to keep the BIG hunger at bay. Does this always work? Not for me, but it does HELP... good luck!

And good morning to you too (a day late but nevertheless)..

Being on track at work is sooo much easier.. I have my healthy food packed and I eat that.. at home it's a different story.. I just get the munchies.. talking about unecessary trips to the kitchen with me standing infront of an open fridge not really wanting anything but just touring around if you know what I mean.. so yes I understand you perfectly! Keeping busy and hiding the bad food really helps though.. if I can't find junk food I won't eat it
