Laurie, you are not the "worst" believe me....I've done so many things over the years that I'm ashamed and embarrassed to admit....
I don't how many times I ate dinner with my family after eating all day long....I've always been a SAHM and very seldom went out to buy something to eat. I cooked/baked
when i would get take out from mcdonalds for DH and me (before kids).. i would wolf down and extra burger on the way home.. that way he wouldn't know it ate it
In college I did it sometimes. I graduated last May but I always lived in the dorms and there was a vending machine right next to the entrance to the hall. So I would wait until like 12am-2am when it was less likely people would be around and then sneak out and get a candy bar and soda. I still do it a little bit. If I am out and about I will grab something on the go and get rid of the evidence so DH doesn't find it. I'm not really even sure why..
I have always been a closet eater and can't seem to break that even now. i don't like anyone watching what i eat. most people love to comment--"Can you eat that" "should you be eating that" "do you always eat that" etc. the comments drive me nuts.
it depends what it is. i like to eat my comfort foods when nobody else is around. some things I can eat in front of people with no problem like if we all have fast food or something, but if I decide to eat a whole box of macaroni and cheese or a half a pan of brownies yah...i would rather do it when nobody's watching.
I must say that I tend to eat alone not only when I binge but for my healthy regular meals. I will more times than not decline a lunch invitation. I will usually eat my lunch at work while others are busy at their computer. Last year was real tough and I would go eat in my car every day. I have not allowed myself to do that this year. The only thing I consume in the car is large quantities of water and my morning coffee.
Answering my own question: Yes if I'm eating something I am not supposed to eat I usually hide. Usually from dh.. not that he would say anything though, but he knows I"m trying to lose weight *d'oh* and it is embarrassing to show 'lack of control'.
And I had to laugh about the noisy wrappings.. I thought I was imagining things LOL.. looks like I"m not the only one :)

Sometimes we put up walls not to keep people out, but to see who cares enough to tear
