Hi Everyone,

I'm in dire need of support. And this is going to sound like a pity party for me!

I lost 80 pounds prior to having my lovely little daughter, Kiera who is now 27 months old. I use to adventure race and do triathlons.

I gained back every pound and then some while pregnant despite following a gestational diabetes meal program (I wanted to avoid GD and did) and swimming 4-5 days a week while pregnant.

I had a c-section with Kiera which took 13 months to heal. So I returned to work after my mat keave finished and my incision healed still heavy and trying to find the time to make healthy meals and workout, while returning to the workforce.

Flash forward another 14 months and I gained more weight from eating out a lot.

So now here I sit wanting to lose roughly 90-100 pounds.

I've been doing Weight Watchers, which is how I did it the first time, except its not working this time around. I should also note I am still breastfeeding my daughter.

For the last month I have been getting to the gym 4-6 days a week for a combination of 60 minutes full body strength training and 60 minutes of cardio (spinning usually). I do three cardio/three strength sessions a week.

You'd think I might be losing weight? Nope I am gaining while eating very sensibley. And yes I have had my thyroid checked.

It's depressing as all get.

I'm finding it hard to stay motivated now - all this hard work is not making a dent.

I hope that by joining in on this board I can find some support and inspiration to keep it up - I have to for my health's sake and my DD and DH.

Welcome! So glad you decided to join us here. I'm not really sure as to what a solution that would be helpful to you would be. The only thing I can really think of is are you getting enough calories? You mentioned that you were still nursing your DD? Not enough fuel can sometimes cause us to stop losing too, so may be something to check into. Nursing moms need lots more calories. Too bad I can't use that excuse! LOL

I really hope that you find some answers and can get to losing very soon! It's great you're here, I know someone will be able to help you out! Stay strong and keep shining, you're so worth it.

Oh, Tash, I'm sorry that your hard work isn't showing results. I'm following WW myself, but I know absolutely nothing about what its like to follow the program while breastfeeding. I have heard other women mention having a hard time losing weight during that time. I'm sure someone here will have the experience and advice to help you. I just wanted to welcome you to the board and offer hugs and encouragement. You should be so proud of yourself for working hard to get healthy again. Don't give up.

Hi there,
first of all welcome to the board. I know first hand how frustrating it can be to be sensible and not see results. My weight has crept on and stayed put despite my being overall healthy and relatively active. I could only lose at WW by consuming fewer points than the bottom range for my weight. The only answer for me haa been exercise, exercise, exercise and keeping calories between 1300 and 1500 daily. My doctor told me that I have a very efficient metabolism, which is a great asset in times of famine but a curse in our world of abundance. I'm sure you'll be successful if you experiment a little more with what works for you. For some of us what should work in theory just doesn't. Hope to see you around! Annie
