The Cookie Diet

Good Morning,
I've been lurking on this board and feel it's time to post. I live in southeastern Florida and there's a diet called "The Cookie Diet" at SmartLife Program. You eat 6 cookies that are high in protein and fiber, each with an 8oz glass of water and then you have a sensible dinner. You can substitue their shakes and soups for the cookies too. You average 12-15 pounds loss per month. It's supervised by a physician. Though it's expensive to start at $260, it's well worth it with the money saved of not buying your morning coffee and muffin and lunches. I plan on starting next week and see how it goes.

Welcome to the board and out of lurkdom. That sure sounds like another twist on the meal substitution approach for dieting, not unlike Slimfast. The problem for me with that kind of plan is that it's hard to sustain and even harder to translate into normal eating. Keep us posted. Wishing you the best, Annie
Welcome to the board, Iris. That plan sounds interesting, but not very nutritious. Make sure that your dinner meal is balanced and take a multi-vitamin to add to your nutrient intake while on that plan.

Welcome!
Iris, I've got a question. I mentioned this diet to a friend of mine this afternoon and she said she'd heard of the diet and that its an extreme low-calorie diet (800 calories a day) and that the cookies have appetite suppressants in them. Is this the same cookie diet you're talking about? She said the diet started in New England and Miami by diet doctors.

Hi Kaelynn,
Yes, that's the diet and I'm aware it's a 800 calorie a day diet. I've tried WW and can't stick with it when I'm not given the foods to eat and have a wide choice. I'm going to try this and see how it goes. They also give you a vitamin to take in the mornings and evenings.
Iris
I hope it works for you.

Good luck!
