My grocery list...

I need help.

I need to buy food that is easy to prepare. I don't want to get off of work or finish doing my homework and then spend an hour in the kitchen. I need food that taste good and is good for me, doesn't spoil in a week, and I have to stay within my budget.

Ok, first what I have in the 'fridge/freezer already: A bag and a half of boneless, skinless, chicken breast. Two pounds of ground turkey. A pack of egg roll wrappers. A pack of whole wheat tortillas. One loaf of crushed wheat bread, a ton of Monterrey jack cheese (I buy in bulk since I'm a cheese-aholic) The frozen and canned fruit and yogurt are what I use for my protein shakes. And that is about it.

So yeah, I have food, but I need things to do with it. Other facts about me; some people get sweet tooths, I get a salt tooth. I love plain tortilla chips. I'll just put them in a bowl and eat them like that. Is this bad? And I also love avocados. So those are two things I buy every time I got to the store.

So ladies, I need ideas of a grocery list I can put together (breakfast, lunch and dinner) that is healthy and easy to do. Because when I don't feel like cooking, I always end up eating something very bad (pie, Chinese food, Mexican food, a loaf of butter top bread...)

Thanks in advance.

My grocery list always looks the same when I diet. Low fat Low fat Low fat. I keep hoping that it will stick and become a way of life.
For instance today I ate:
1 cup Quaker Eddentials Oatmeal Square w/ skim (fat free) milk)
1 small (2serving) pkg fake crab meat (you know, that pink and white stuff)w/ 1 teaspoon reduced fat mayonaise
1 fat free yogurt (peach)

for dinner I will probably have Subway. I hate to cook. But, if I had to eat at home I would probably have tuna or a salad.

that probably doesn't help you. I don't eat at home very much.

Yeah, I don't eat at home much either which is probably why I gained so much weight back. I love going out to eat especially places with all you can eat bread. ;-) I'm trying to learn how to shop for health rather than convenience. I will be quick to go to the store and buy cookies and milk because I can grab it and eat it without doing more than pouring milk into a cup. LOL! last winter I was hooked on crunch and munch and hot cocoa. Right now, it's juice (water, sweet lemon tea) and tortilla chips. If I don't go out to eat, I will go the whole day eating just that. No meals what so ever. My name is Katrina and I have a problem.

I'm not good at giving other people shopping advice, plus I'm on a totally different plan than you.

LMBO! Yeah, egg rolls have to be fried. I'm sure they can be steamed or something right? I like to make avocado, ground turkey and jack egg rolls. It's a serious guilty pleasure, but oh so good.

These are some great ideas especially the stir fry. I have to cut back on cheese? :-(

Ok, I need some breakfast suggestions. When I'm working, I'm always running late and grab some pop tarts on my way out and I'm always starving by 10am. I need something grab and go, filling, and easy to prepare (Maybe even the night before)

But um...If I give up my tortilla chips (The horror!) what will I snack on between meals? And please don't say rice cakes, those things scare me.

Oh yeah, this helps a bunch. I low carbed it once and lost 10 pounds in a week. Of course I then messed it up and went to Texas (road house, a restaurant) and the bread there is heavenly. 24 rolls later (I took some home) I had gained all the weight back.

You have given me some great ideas.

Wow, I can't believe you don't snack between meals. I have to or I'll start gnawing on my arm or something and that would be really unfortunate...

Yes, it most certainly would be unfortunate.
