Sounds smart to me, Staci. You bring to light something I was just considering this morning, that it would be wise to tweak our plans as we go. Certainly we can't let ourselves get stuck in a rut just because it's been working. My body is too sneaky to let me get away with that. LOL Good luck on your new approach. Annie
Staci, sounds like a wonderful plan. Are you sure you're ready to be so strict? Of course, I'm thinking about me and what would happen. LOL The word strict and the lil hairs on the back of my neck stand up. Seriously tho', I'd probably be so much farther ahead in the game if I was strict, wouldn't I? Oh well. But back to you, I think it's great that you are thinking things thru and weighing all possibilities and being honest. I also think that maintanance weeks is an awesome idea. You will definitely see yourself to goal with the right thinking you've got happening. Stay strong and always believe in yourself!!
Stacy, I have never posted before, but have been reading the board for a while. I found the board after I'd lost the first 60 pounds and have about 40 to go...I admire so much how you have stuck to your plan.
I've thought about your post since last night, and I felt like I had to reply - please don't sabotage yourself by getting discouraged and going on 'maintenance' before you have met your goals.
Permanent weight loss is a very long road - I'm on year four of what I thought was a three year plan...but what I notice in your posts is that you are making consistent healthy choices-eating, exercising, staying with your journal. Consistency is so much the key to success.
The part that was the hardest for me was to realize that there really is no end to this journey- it has to be a lifestyle change if its going to last, and you have to keep re-affirming your commitment and upping the effort - even better food choices, harder exercise routines-as you go along.
But Stacy, it is SO worth it. When your mind catches up to your body and you look in the mirror and say 'Damn, I look awesome!' it is worth every single minute of effort.
If you are feeling a little discouraged or tired of all this planning and work, may I suggest that you think of something that you really, really want (not food-related, of course) and give yourself it as a present? A massage, a whole day with your beautiful baby, a -I don't know -you know what would make you happy...but reward yourself for how far you have come and re-committ to what is WORKING for you!
Anyway, I wish you so much success as you go along.
Sounds perfectly reasonable. Shout out when or if you need motivation.
