Hi Colleen, There are so many contradictory opinions out there about everything that it can get very frustrating. Personally, I think it all comes down to reason. You don't seem to be drinking excessive amounts of water, and seem well within what most experts recommend. (I've read that when losing weight drinking more water helps your liver metabolize fat better. If the kidneys aren't removing impurities then the liver is occupied with waste elimination instead of processing fat. Whatever the case, drinking sufficient water helps me to feel more full at meals and even the extra steps to the bathroom come in handy. :-) )
Unless you are doing really strenuous exercise, I've heard that you don't really need a day off. I allow myself a day of here and there because life just seems to work out that way and if on my plan it's "permitted" then it doesn't feel like I've cheated and lost momentum. One of the things I do is try to work in a couple of days when I do something different so I don't wear out the same muscles all the time. Good luck finding what works for you, and with everything take the advice of others (including me) with a grain of salt. All the best, Annie
I'm not sure about the water. I have heard of a condition that results from drinking a lot of water called Hyponatremia. I believe it happens when you drink so much water that you throw your electrolytes out of whack. Here's a short article that might help you: http://diet.ivillage.com/issues/isnacks/0,,msr,00.html
As far as exercise goes, I personally believe that as long as you're not pushing yourself to the point of injury there's no need for a rest day. I've heard many people at my WW meetings say that they exercise seven days a week. They're not training for a marathon or anything. They're just walking around their neighborhood everyday or working out to an exercise dvd everyday. I guess you would classify their exercise as low to moderate intensity.
I seen were you was talking about the biggestloser workout and I have to tell you I absoultely love it. I had to work up to it to I used the Richard Simmmons workouts for about a month than started doing the biggest loser and in the time 2 months time theres a big difference. hope u like it as much as I do
Hi Colleen. You've been doing such a great job lady, keep it up! Let me just tell ya from my experience about water. I've been drinking well over 100oz pretty much every day(alot of days about 120oz) ever since my first pregnancy almost 14 years ago. :D It started with that pregnancy, I craved it day & night and it's a habit that just stuck with me all these years. If anything, I experience clearer skin and my insides feel "clean" if that makes sense. LOL I seriously don't think you've got anything to worry aobut on that front.
As far as exercise, like the girls already said, just go for it. I say as long as you're feeling strong & motivated, just keep doing what you're doing. However, if you feel like you do need a rest day, by all means, take it. The WATP tapes are awesome, and trust me, you will LOVE the Biggest Loser dvd! Especially if you're a fan of Bob's. The work can be pretty intense without realizing it--all those lunges & squats! But well worth the results!
Just keep on truckin lady, you're doing fabulous with everything!!!
