I been dieting for a few months now I started out at 322 and then stayed between 315 and 318 . Well for the past 10 days I rapidly went up. I am at 327 tonight if I get 3 lbs bigger i won't even be able to weigh myself at home anymore. I walk 2 miles a day and eat 1500-1800 cals a day I drink my water and all that. What can I do?

Hi Maryanne,

Before giving you sound advice, I have a couple of questions for you. Are you on any medications, if so which ones? Also, what does your 1500-1800 calories a day diet consist of?

I have clients that are on certain meds that makes it very difficult for them to lose weight no matter how hard I train them and the statement that "a calorie is a calorie" is a myth. So, please clarify for me, so that I can give you a more educated response.

Thanks,

I hope I can help in any way. I feel frustrated myself. I can't even seem to get started. I know exactly what kind of foods I should eat and that I need to exercise every day, but day after day I seem to sit around like a bump on a log if I'm not working. If I am working I tend to skip meals or eat something quick, which is not healthy. Do you drink lots of water? I know that when I lost weight before it helped the scales go down easier if I drank my daily requirement with about a teaspoon of pure lemon juice added to an 8 oz. glass of water. The lemon juice helps flush out fat. I've been told that coffee acts as an appetite stimulant as well. Why is it always easier to give advise than take it? LOL. Well good luck and don't give up. I know how scred you may be.

I wish I could help you, but I can't, so I just wanted to say I am sorry you are struggling so badly and I hope things get better. LOOKS like you have someone posting to you that may really be able to help you (the personal trainer) so I would definitely talk to her if I were you and see what she has to say. Good luck!!

((Maryanne)) I don't even know what to say to help you, but wanted to give you a big hug. I certainly know what it feels like to be trying so hard, thinking you're doing so well and nothing happens. Hang in there hon, hopefully someone here will have lots of words of wisdom for you. What does your doc say about this? Have you been tested for thyroid issues?

I hope you find some helpful hints and suggestions so you can keep the ball rolling.

Looks like you've already received some good ideas about what may be causing your rapid gain.

Maryann, did you ask your doctor if your medication makes you gain weight? A lot of meds have this as a side effect. I think it will be worth while to see your doctor and tell him about your concerns and tell him how you really want to lose the weight. He may have a few good pointers.
