i need a new job
| Tue, 10-10-2006 - 9:00pm |
so i've tried off and on to lose weight for like four years. just before i met my husband, i had actually lost about 60 lbs, bringing me down to about 210 lbs. but i've gained and lost weight since then - i've fluctuated between about 250 and 290. right now i think i weight like 285.
i'm a manager at a fast food restaurant. i need a new job. it's so hard to not eat fatty foods, or just drink pop all day when i'm around it all the time. i also really need some sort of like work-out partner. i'm trying to get some stuff to set up like a home gym. i live in a trailor so there's not much room in the house, but i have a nice pole barn - heated and everything. *hehe*

Hi and welcome to the board!
Sounds like you have my dream job LOL. Seriously though, I can understand the frustration of being around junk food all the time. Maybe it would help if you make it a point to eat healthy food first.. and by the time you are finished maybe there will not be enough room for a lot of the junk. Like make it a point to eat a healthy breakfast and pack a healthy lunch with you and make it a point to eat that. And make it a point to drink a water bottle that you bring.
Stick around.. there is a great group of ladies around here.. they're very supportive and I bet they will come up with many suggestions.
Are you following a specific plan?

Best of luck to you! I know you've got it sort of hard right now with your job and all, but I guess it just boils down to how bad you want to lose the weight. I know you can do this, it's just a matter of getting it right in your mind. Losing weight is probably the hardest thing any one will ever do & it does take an immense effort and hard work. You are worth it!! Find a weight loss plan that suits you and your lifestyle, things that you can live with for the rest of your life. Maybe doing a low carb plan would work for you? If it's burgers you serve at work then bunless burgers & a salad would be easy to eat while you're there, and no guilt!
Keep plugging away until you get it right and you will be so glad you did. As for workouts, maybe getting a few of the Walk Away the Pounds dvd's by Leslie Sansone would work for you. Takes up minimal space and are a fabulous way to a total body workout.
Good luck!

HI,
I can't add much more to what has already been said.
