Ok, I know that we all want to lose the weight for the important reasons (better health, to prove to yourself you can do it...) But what about the little things? What are your more superficial reasons for wanting to lose weight?

For me, I want to shop in the juniors department for the first time in my life before I'm too old to do so. I want to wear a mini skirt so bad.

Oh, and I want to go for a run without feeling like I'm going to cough and die.

Does anyone else want for the 'little' things?

Dani--

I totally agreee with you on #5

5. To be able to run across the park chasing my son instead being afraid I'll never catch up to him before he gets hit by a car

I have 2 kids ages 2.5 & 1 and if i go somewhere with them w/o DH or anohter person, i lock them in the double stroller so they can't go running, cause if they did i'd never find them. If DH is with me, he will let them both run and he will chase after them. Like when we go grocery shopping or to walmart, he lets them run all over the store playing tag with them and i do the shopping

oh, heres a couple more i though of..

to be able to shave "down there" w/o getting winded from bending over and then trying to reach and to be able to see what i am shaving.... LOL.

To have a thong look sexy on me.... yah good luck on that one...

To be smaller than my sisters... We have this thing in my family that we call the "Gilbertson Growth".. cause ALL of us were very skinny and in shape until we hit 18 and then we start packing on the pounds.... My youngest sister who weighed 125 at graduation, just turned 19 and she has alreay put on 25 lbs and she has more stretch marks on her thighs than i have on my belly.. LOL...

I want ALL of DH's friends & acquaintences to be jealous of him.. When we 1st started dating they gave him alot of crap for being with a 'heavy woman'... He of course told me all about who said what and i casually mentioned it the next time i saw them..
I want them to say "Damn, Todd she is hot"

Ooooh, I want to jump double dutch again. I had to stop when I was 12 because everything coming down hurt too much. LOL! Gotta love gravity!

I want to go swimming. Actually, I would like to sit pool side looking good because I can't swim. I have never owned a swim suit in my life.

I would like to get in and out of my car without hearing it groan.

I want to go to a restaurant, order anything I want and not have to worry about what people think about what I'm eating.

Side note: Why when you go to a restaurant, and you order a bunch a food, people give you that look, like, 'She should not be eating all of that...' and then on those days when you order a salad, they give you another look, like, 'She know she want more food than that...' Darned if I do and darned if I don't. ;-)

OOOOOooo, another one:

To shop the "Best-Dressed Sale" (an annual fundraiser for the med school/hospital where I work).

This is one of those deals where the rich and famous donate all their worn-one-time fabulous outfits (some stores donate new designer duds, too) and the hospital ladies-who-lunch sell them very inexpensively. So my lovely, sweet size 10 colleague was making out like a bandit ($25 for an Armani pantsuit! $5 for a YSL jacket!), and I tried to smile as I slowly turned deeper and deeper shades of green. Needless to say, there were no plus sizes on offer. And green is definitely NOT a good color for me, so next year I want to be in a position to avoid all that envy. Grrrrr!
