Hi I am K, I have been lurking awhile and thought I would introduce myself.
My husband and I had been trying to concieve for a long time. When we decided to take an indefinate break from TTC, I started eating alot of unhealthy things and gaining more and more weight. I haven't weighed myself in a while but I know I am at the heaviest I have ever been, even my fat period pants are tight. I have a few questions. . .
1. What is everyone doing to lose the weight?
2. What is your #1 piece of advice?
3. How much exercise do you do a week?
4. What do you do during holiday time?
I have tried and tried to lose weight I just hope I stick to it this time. Thanks for listening :0)

Welcome to the board K, I'm glad you decided to de-lurk and join us.. posting is much more fun than lurking :)
OK to answer your questions:
1. What is everyone doing to lose the weight? I am going low calorie for the most part.. watching where my calories come from (i.e. focus on having healthy food: lots of fruits and veggies, lean protein, and low fat dairy). Sometimes I track every calorie, and other times I just keep an eye on things and leave it at that. I use the board for support & accountability
2. What is your #1 piece of advice? Never give up.. just keep going even if you're not losing fast enough or if you get off track or even if you gain a bunch of weight back. Just dust yourself up and try again & again & again.
3. How much exercise do you do a week? Right now I'm trying to go 30 days continues to create a habit. I don't like exercise very much. I've been at it for 10 days so far.. that's a record for me
4. What do you do during holiday time? I pig out :( I hope this year with the board's help I can do better
Have you planned on a course of action yet, or will you use our ideas for brainstorming?
Best of luck on your journey! Post often
HI and Welcome
here are my answers to your questions:
1. What is everyone doing to lose the weight? I am a Weight Watcher and live the program - it will be 3 years next week that i achieved lifetime and my hopes are keeping it here.
2. What is your #1 piece of advice? Write down your goals (why do you want to lose, what do you want to achieve etc) keep focus on your goals and make losing weight a top priority in you life.
3. How much exercise do you do a week? I exercise minimum 30 minutes seven days a week. I also wear a pedometer and aim for 10000 steps. Most days i achieve it and weekends usually do around 12-13000.
4. What do you do during holiday time? Plan, plan and plan and then hope to stick to 80% of my plan. i aim for the 80/20 rule. if going to a party, always have a lite snack so i don't go hungry which results in overeating. i aim to taste everything i want. i try to eat only foods I normally don't have during the year and again tasting not eating. i go with the 3 bite rule (you taste for 3 bites, remembering the fourth bite tastes just like the first bite and then move on) It does take planning and strong focus. always keep a glass of water, seltzer, diet soda in your hand. sip it.
Good luck on whatever program you choose.

Hi and welcome aboard. I wish you the best of luck in whatever you decide.
I haven't lost much weight so I am not sure that my answers will help you but here goes:
1. What is everyone doing to lose the weight?
Right now I am trying to incorporate heathier habits into my life by concentrating on water and fruit/veggie intake. Once I get this down, I will move on to a couple new habits to get into and once they become habit so on and so forth. I eventually will count calories and fat again but I have to be able to drink my water and eat healthier before that will help so...here I am.
2. What is your #1 piece of advice?
Just keep starting over no matter how many times you have to do it. Don't give up. Every lb lost is a lb gone now matter how long it takes. I learned that from these ladies. They keep encouraging me despite gaining and losing the same 10 lbs since March.
3. How much exercise do you do a week?
At the moment none really. I have really bad asthma and can't seem to get into an exercise program at this moment without causing problems. As I go through the day I try to stay as active as possible without triggering a bad attack. At the moment I am also recovering from a really bad respiratory infection that miraclousy I didn't even know I had. I just thought the weather changing was causing my breathing difficulties. I didn't even feel sick...go figure. I hope that soon I can start a walking routine but again it will have to be very slow. 5-10 min here or there as I build up to more.
4. What do you do during holiday time?
I don't know an answer to this one. I did okay at easter but for my family Thanksgiving and Christmas is the big food holidays. Considering I love turkey and the veggies my mom fixes I think I will be okay. Of course last year I did most of the cooking and probably will this time too. My challenge will be the desserts and since I am usually the one that fixes them I guess I can not fix so many...LMAO. My sil does make really good peach cobbler, may ask her to use splenda instead of sugar so it won't be so bad for us. My whole family could do to stand a few lbs (the ones over 30 anyways). LOL
