Don't uderstand???

Ok here is my problem.... I resently moved to Germany from Canada. Back home in Canada I had a poor diet, and little to no exercise. I had gained about 50lbs last year. Anyway since moving to Germany I have gone through a huge lifestyle change, I bike everywhere, I walk everywhere... I get over 1hr of exercise everyday, I go to badminton and I plan on joining a fitness class next month. I also quit smoking and am eating way healthier..If anyone has been to Germany you would know just how healthy the lifestyle is here by the fact that there are almost no overweight people at all. Anyway my problem is that I havent lost weight, I achually gained weight...which would be fine if it was muscle, but it has been 2months and I doubt I would of gained 10lbs of muscle in that time. I do occasional have beer when I go out, and eat chocolate once in awhile, but my diet is way better then before moved here, also I exercise like crazy..so if anyone might be able to help I am getting so frustrated...Thanks

Hi Lesley and welcome to the board. Congratulations on getting all that exercise and on quitting smoking. It looks like you're following a really healthy path.
First I wouldn't rule out the muscle weight. Maybe the whole 10lbs are not muscle, but at least some of them are. Did you notice that your clothes are any looser? Or your rings maybe?
My second thought is maybe youre eating more than you realise.. or eating things you think
I'd be out of my mind in your shoes too. BUT I also just wish that I could get to exercising like that. Bravo to you for that accomplishment.
I do know that 10 yrs ago when I first started really gaining and I went to working out everynight, I didn't really lose weight but I was fit and I stayed in shape and my weight was muscle instead of fat. IT doesn't happen quickly that you see yourself as in shape but like Mary says don't count out that part, maybe even most of it is muscle.
