He says it is all in my head. I feel so self concious most of the time. I have to admit it does kind of pose a hinderance sometimes as far as things go. But mostly it is just feelings, I feel gross so therefore I am self concious. He says he doesn't care, he loves me no matter what and doesn't look at me the way I look at myself.
Yes. It does. And no, it isn't necessarily all in your head. Here are some reasons why, and maybe it will give you the motivation to try to lose weight. #1- The self esteem issue. It is in your head, but can be very real. #2- Lack of energy. Its true that weight can wear on your energy level. #3- When you are overweight it isn't as "comfortable", big belly, big thighs, whatever the case may be. #4- When you have excess weight, you can also carry it in that "area" (ahem) and it makes it less sensitive. Exercise is a big component to this. It can give you self esteem, more energy, and it can really help things. Hopefully this isn't a TMI. Its just stuff I have read, and I know how hard it can be sometimes to be lacking in that department!! Tami
when DH and i started dating (a little over 6 yrs ago) i was 240 lbs he was about 150 lbs. I am now 284lbs he is about 170lbs.
we have always had a very active and imaginative (sometimes kinky) sex life.. LOL
In fact i would say that I want it more than him most of the time. My weight has affected it somewhat, as there are just some thing you can not do when you are this big. ya know, like hanging from the chandeliers!!
I will say that DH has commented that i'm much more "flexible" since i have lost some weight.. and that i sweat alot more now while doing it. (not sure if that is good or bad, lol).
Hmm... well, yes, it does affect my sex life. My husband is head over heels in love with me whether I weigh 100 lbs or 300 lbs. He is 15 years younger than I am, tall, with a basketball player's physique, and he's from England so it's like going to bed with Hugh Grant every night (only much, much better) -- this unconditional adoration is a tough concept for me to grasp!! I've gotten past the "we've gotta do this with the lights off because I'm ashamed of what I look like" thing BUT... I am acutely aware of my limitations in the bedroom; certain positions that I enjoyed when I was thinner are just not comfortable anymore. And sometimes I'll get a little self-conscious, thinking that I need to be careful and "position" myself so that my double chin isn't so obvious or so my belly doesn't jiggle too much.
But then I remember that, in spite of my insecurities, all my husband sees is big boobs and a round butt so he is very, very happy! LOL!
