Hello everybody! Mind if I come in?

I'm a mom of 4, ages 10/5/2 and 7 months. My highest weight, not including pregnancy, was 315. At the moment, I'm 206 looking forward to being under 200 for the first time in 12 years or so. I'm happy to have found this board because I know it's harder for us (those that have been more than 100lbs overweight) to lose it, and keep it off. I know that at the point I was at, my body was producing fat cells, thus putting the weight back on is much easier for me than for someone who's only been 20lbs overweight. I've been heavy my whole life, but my goal is to be under 200 by my 30th birthday in two weeks. After that, I want to be under 190 by New Years. My ultimate goal is 125. I know, that's a really low number, and at 5'7, it's considered underweight. But just once, one time in my life, I want to go to the doctor and have them tell me to gain weight, lol! Realistically though, I plan to maintain myself between 135 and 145. I need a 10lb cushion because I retain water like the Hoover dam.

I lost the bulk of my weight through diet and working out. I've recently started using that fat blocking medication (name slips my mind), but I'm going to stop using it because honestly, it promotes bad eating habits. When I know I can take this pill and 1/3 of the fat from whatever isn't going to be absorbed, I feel like I have more latitude in what I can eat, which is really bad for me. So, I'm going to concentrate on getting back to the healthy eating habits I formed earlier and stay away from the prescription diet aid drugs.

So, the way I look at it, I have about 70lbs to lose. Considering I've lost over 100 already, I feel like this is doable, with a little encouragement from women in the same boat!

Cheers,
laura

Welcome to the board Laura and CONGRATULATIONS on the fantastic success you had so far. It looks like you really worked hard for it. How long since you started?

From your post I assume you're not following a specific plan but rather eating better and exercising, right? This is what I'm doing too.

I wish you all the luck in losing the rest of the weight. I hope we can find the encouragement you need here. I'm so glad you're joining us.
