I know I haven't posted in a long, long, time. I needed to try to get my head back on straight and trust me, it takes a while sometimes. I fell off the wagon for a while, but I'm back on and going strong, to date I've lost 23lbs and 6 inches. I keep telling myself that muscle weighs more than fat, eventually I'll convince myself of this. I am actually getting ready to leave the island life behind, too many memories here. I got back together with the ex-bf and he took a job as a chef in Houston TX. He lived out there until a few years ago and ran 3 restaurants for about 16 years, so needless to say he has a little experience. I always thought that dating a chef would be very hard on the waistline but it turns out they don't really like cooking at home. Mechanics always have sh*tty cars, doctors smoke, painters have chipped and flaking houses, nobody wants to take their work home with them. He has been teaching me how to cook, with supervision (after the last fire I have to have a babysitter now lol) and I've actually turned out some healthy food that is edible. What are the odds.
I will miss the surfing though, how do people live on the mainland? What do they do for fun? And how in the h*ll do 4 million people decide they want to live in the same town?!
Anyway, I wanted to come back here and start posting again, as it has been a while, and you guys are so supportive that maybe I can do better than trying to do everything by myself. So far that hasn't worked too well, so maybe it is ok to ask for help now and then.

Thanks for the welcome. I'm working on the low calorie thing, which means basically portion control, and beverage control. I gave up beer :( I love beer, but diet coke is pretty good with rum. I also have been trying to exorcise, but I'm not very regular about it. I am thinking about adding a student who's dad is a personal trainer, we would just be trading favors, kid learns music, I get a drill sergeant. I have also been learning to cook from the bf, but I have to have supervision (I have attention problems) I actually made this really good chicken with garlic and herbs and peppers on brown rice. It was healthy and good. I love living with a chef, he doesn't cook at home but he teaches me to. Any tips or words of advice are always welcome. Now if I can figure out how to burn calories from the couch I'll be in good shape lol.

Good luck with all the changes in your life!! I love cooking- so best wishes on that endeavor- though I would feel the pressure feeding a chef!! Awesome job with the loss too!

Welcome back to the board... and congratulations on all the weight you lost so far.. it looks like you're moving in the right track.

You don't know how 4 million people live in the same town? Try 15 million in the same city! But I'm a city girl and I can't imagine living anywhere else. Even if I visit smaller cities, I usually get bored after a few days. Lots of stuff to do in a big city.. lots of places to go.. and you can get really wild if you want.. afterall
