Hi ladies,
My name is Jen and I have decided I really need to join you all! I am 28 years old, married and I have a 18 month old son. As of this morning I weighed in at 253. My long term goal is to be down to 160. I started at 270 so I have lost a little bit so far, but have plateaued and quit working at it for a while. I need to get my butt in gear though because I would like to be down below 200 before we start TTC again next summer. I have been overweight most of my life, but this is ridiculous! I was at 266 9 months pregnant, lost about 24 pounds in the few weeks after childbirth and then gained it all back and a few more by the time my son was 6 months old. I hit my all time high of 270 back in January and have been slowly and occasionally trying to lose since then. I am so addicted to sugar though and that definitely is my downfall. I enjoy working out, but I often have committments after work and then find the excuses pile up often. Any advice or support you can give me would be appreciated. I look forward to talking to all of you in the weeks and months to come.

Hi Jen, welcome,
I am new here myself, but everyone seems so nice. Try to focus of the positive. You
have lost some weight. That's great. Now, just start over from here.
As for working out- I just heard someone say that they actually put their workouts on
a schedule. Just as they would for other things they must do.
Your health is just as important, if not more so, than anything else. That way,
you won't skip it.
Good luck,
Jan

Wow! That could've been me writing that post.

I gained most of my weight during my pregnancy, after delivery I lost some weight initially then gained it back plus some. Anyways I slept on the issue for more than a year (big mistake) then decided to do something about it. It took a while until I really got serious, then I started losing the weight.
