Well, it's been a long while, almost two years in fact, since I've been here. I remember some of the names, but I see a lot of new faces.
So, I'm back, and things are not well. Not well for weight loss that is. I am at my highest weight ever and really need some focus, drive and determination to once and for all get healthy.
I used to live in Arizona, but recently moved to Portland, Oregon. I work for Wells Fargo for a fabulous lady and am loving the Pacific Northwest. Health is a big deal up here, but it's been so long since I've wanted to be healthy, that I just am floundering.
My mother had gastric bypass in April. Had a severe complication that hospitalized her for a month and is doing better now. I came very close to wanting the same thing for myself. I mean really, I'm almost 150 lbs. overweight and the number seems SO LARGE. But I just can't do it. I got myself in to this mess and I'll get myself out. I need to prove to myself that I can do it.
So there you go. A short summary from my nearly two year absence and the hope of coming back and making new friends, finding old ones and just getting on with my life and my health!

Hi Theresa! Congratulations on getting married and the baby! I think you were planning the wedding last time I was here. I'm glad everything is working out for you!
Joey is great. He's done remarkably well during the move and really loves it up here. He is getting in to being a high schooler. I still can't believe my baby is a Freshman! It's nice here because people are so diverse and he can really concentrate on his music.
Thanks for asking! I am so glad to be back!
Hi KC! I'm with you; back after several years of absence, but wanting to finally get my @#$% together!
You are so lucky to be living in Portland! I just love it up there. I live in Southern California, but I had an uncle who used to live there and I always loved to visit him. Sadly, he's passed away, but I still love Portland. How great that you're happy in your job, too. That makes a big difference.
I have considered gastic surgery too, but besides being too scared to do it, I just don't want to anymore. There are so many serious complications possible, even death, and I'm not willing to be sickly for months on end. And ultimately, we still have to cut the food portions and eat healthier or we will gain weight. I can fight though that process without the surgery, thank you.
We can do it together! I'm looking forward to chatting with everyone and reading of everyone's successes, as well as getting each other through the hard times, which won't go away no matter what avenue we take to weight loss.
YAY!! Kerstin is back!! You may not remember me, I was just starting to post by the time you misteriously left. I'm so excited you're here.
Welcome back to your board!!
