I've used relacore, trimspa and dexatrim. Trimspa didn't do anything, relacore didn't do anything and dexatrim didn't do anything. I've not tried phentermine, but I've heard it works well for some.
I think there are advantages to taking them, but just like a diet, I think it has more going against it than for it. For example, on any "specialty" diet, i.e. Atkins, South Beach, etc. once you stop following the diet, you gain weight again. I feel the same aobut diet supplements. Once you stop, you gain again.
So unless you're committed to taking something every day for the rest of your life, or following a particular diet every day for the rest of your life, it's not really going to do much in the long run.
We all hate to hear it, me especially, but the best thing to do is eat a sensible diet, taking everything in moderation and getting exercise. Of course, there's always people with medical conditions who can't do one or the other or both. But for the majority of us, it's truly simple. Eat right and exercise. Everything else will fall in to place.
