Hi everyone! I was around a few years ago, when things got kind of tense around here, but I still have the weight to lose so I thought I'd come back. Hopefully all the angry people have lost their weight and have moved on, lol.
I'm 48, a part-time teacher looking to become full-time, and have decided to try yet again to get healthy. I've been heavy all my life, have been eating what I want/when I want and have been lucky not to have diabetes, hypertension and other troubles so far. Well, last year I was diagnosed with osteoarthritis in both knees and degenerative changes in my lower spine. My dh is borderline diabetic, so I'm doing this for both of us this time; we need to get healthy so we can enjoy our lives!
We're eating healthy and I have no plans to weigh myself, except for when the doctor's office does it. That has freed me from being obsessed about the numbers; I just concentrate on how I feel and sticking with my plan. I do feel slightly more energetic and I know my stomach has gone down a little. My highest weight was 247 a few weeks ago; then my last official weigh-in I was 238, so I'm pleased about that. I'm only 5 feet tall, with teeny boobs (sigh) so it's mostly below the waist. Exercise is our next step to tone things up and keep the weight loss steady.
Anyway, I'm glad to be here and I look forward to chatting and losing with you all!
Mary

Welcome back Mary.. love your name LOL. Congratulations on the weight you already lost! It looks like your plan is working for you.
I think we don't have anymore angry people on the board. It's pretty friendly here and as long as I've been here the ladies have been nothing but supportive. I hope you enjoy your stay with us. Looking forward to your posts and good luck on your journey
Welcome back. I was around back then too only I didn't have 100 lbs to lose at the time so I mostly lurked.
