Not silly at all. Weighing can be as addictive as eating and can drive you up the wall. Personally I do better myself weighing everyday cuz it holds me accountable and I try harder the next day if the scale goes up. Lately because I know it is slowly creeping up I don't weigh and it is harder and harder to hold myself accountable, so I really should get back to weighing every day.....oh well...Good for you for laying off since it is better for you.

Good for you! Weighing every day doesn't work well for some people. You can get too
discouraged,too easily.
For instance, the other day, my scale suddenly went up 4lbs.! I was upset, but didn't
let it get to me because I knew I have been good. Scale went back down the next day.
Some people retain a lot of water.
Do whatever works for you. Good luck!

Good for you! I can be a real scale junkie when I'm on a roll. There's something about seeing a drop however small--like after a big pee ;-D ! Even if I know it's not significant I still love that feeling. Annie

LOL Wendy, I'm a daily weigher too. But I am not planning to stop. Actually I like to weigh myself first thing in the morning and for the past 2 weeks I couldn't wake up early enough to occupy the master bathroom before dh beats me to it. I still weigh though later in the day, but I don't take the weight very seriously. I expect to see fluctuations, so I don't really get in a bad mood after I see a sudden rise in the scale.

Hey, Wendy, good for you! This is not a silly topic at all, imo. I am commited to not weighing myself this time around and so far it's helping. I used to be one of those who weighed all the time: when I felt thin, after *ahem* a good bathroom visit, any excuse. And if I didn't see a drop, I'd be so discouraged that I would eat something.

Now, I'm concentrating on how I feel and how my clothes fit. I see various doctors on a regular schedule and every single one of them makes me step on the scale, so I'll just let them do the weighing. Right now, I feel good, have a bit more energy and and am going on with life.

This is all part of my larger philosophy to focus on my life and not on my weight/weight lost. I'm eating healthy, trying to get exercise (haven't mastered that one yet) and going on with the things I like to do that don't involve eating. After all, while I was gaining I didn't weigh myself after every big meal or snack, so I shouldn't do it now, right? I don't want food and weight to be the main focus of my day; it's like the watched pot that never boils. If I concentrate on other things, the weight will come off as long as I'm following my eating plan.

Just thought I'd share. :)
