Hi Everybody - It's been awhile since I've posted. I have shingles and I got diagnosed with postherpetic neuralgia today which basically means I have nerve damage to my right breast and my back. I'm on my third or fourth week of having shingles and being in a lot of pain that I haven't been eating good at all. I usually make all the meals for my family and I haven't been able to cook or clean at all. So, my family has been doing a lot of take out. I've gained 8 lbs in three weeks. I'll admit I've been craving comfort food. It's been a real struggle. Then the nerve pain medication they prescribe for me has a side effect of weight gain. It has an appetite stimulant in it. My doctor promised me that if I ate correctly and exercised (when I begin to feel better) that I won't gain any weight. It may make it hard to lose though. It's better than being in pain though. Anyway, starting right now I'm gonna try really hard to eat better and maybe next week I'll feel good enough to walk on the treadmill at the YMCA. If I can wear a bra that is....right now I can't even wear a bra. Wearing a t-shirt even hurts my breast.

Hi, Jena! I'm sorry you're having to go through all that; constant pain just makes life so much more difficult. I hope you get feeling better soon, just don't give up!
