I did great yesterday until...

I did great yesterday. I ate healthy and I walked on the treadmill for 30 min. despite having shingles. WRONG MOVE!!! I was in so much pain last night I guess I'm not ready to start up my exercise program again....atleast not right now. Then by 10 PM I was starving. I had an apple, pretzels and a piece of whole wheat bread with peanut butter. I feel like such a failure, but all I can do is get back on that horse again. I have been eating horrible for the past three weeks. I'm sure my body is going through withdrawal from all the junk I was eating while being sick. All I can do is say I made a mistake last night and move on. I made the decision a long time ago not to beat myself up in order to lose weight. I have to treat myself like a friend. Atleast that's how I've had success so far. Anyway, I'm back to eating healthy today and hopefully will continue to do so.

Take Care, Jena

If you are still in pain you definately don't need to be on a treadmill, all it does is make it more of a punishment and you won't want to get on it when you are feeling better. If you think you need to exercise, why don't you try doing just leg lifts, some light handweights, stuff you can do from the recliner or bed, that way you don't overdo yourself, but you still feel like you accomplished something, and when you are feeling better, you have already been into kind of a routine. You might also talk to your doc about a topical anesthetic, just for temp relief. I've never had the shingles, but I've had the chicken pox a couple of times (anyone tells you that you can only get it once, is a liar) and there is this cream that deadens the nerves so it doesn't hurt, totally forgot the name, but it never hurts to ask. Hope you start feeling better soon.
