Hi everyone! I have been as high as 203lbs (I was pregnant) and am currently at 169. My goal is approx 115 (Im short so this is an appropriate goal for me). Since I dont have 100lbs to lose but still have a SIGNIFICANT amount I need to get rid of, would I be welcome here or is it just for 100 lbs or more to go? I introduced myself about a year ago and received no replies. Ive lurked here for about 3 years and really am inspired by you all.

I can't speak for everyone but I see no reason why you wouldn't be welcome here. Just because you are halfway there doesn't mean you don't struggle everyday like the rest of us. I wish you the best of luck.

I don't know why you wouldn't be welcome here, the hardest point when losing weight is the last bit anyway. Good luck!

Thanks ladies for the warm welcome! Ok....glad to know it's ok to be here. I am a mom of 3 with 2 children born in 20 months (2/05 & 10/06). On 2/27/05 I weighed 203 lbs. When I got pregnant with my 10/06 baby, I got back up to 198. I am at 169 today but I have messed around with these last fifty lbs that I need to lose for years. If I had just spent the time LOSING the weight instead of obsessing about it...sigh. Oh well...carry on. Can't do anything about that now. I had a c section so I cant get on the fitness program too much but I joined Weight Watchers because I know that works for me. I need to faithfully journal and measure my food. When I do that, I lose. When I dont, I gain. It really is that simple of a science for me. The one thing that annoys me about just about every weight loss program in the universe is that they never really help me get to the root of "why". If excess weight is a symptom of a larger picture, you would think it prudent for me to learn why I INSIST on holding on to this weight. So that's what Im working on now. My husband is a great guy but is a total "I love you however" type of man. Motivation and focus really need to come from me. Current goal, and it's not a hugely agressive one, is to be in the 150's (159 is fine) by December 31st. I look forward to participating and learning from you all.

Hi Wendie! Of course you'd be welcome here. My name is Jena. I have recently lost 80 lbs with about 135 lbs more to go. I'll be honest it's been a real struggle for me lately because I have shingles. Because of that I'm on a medication that has an appetite stimulant in it and has the side effect of weight gain. It's been a very tough road for me so I truly believe that if I can lose weight anybody can lose weight. I made a promise to myself a long time ago that I refuse to berate or beat myself up in order to lose weight. What has worked for me has been treating myself like a friend. Go Figure! Anyway, good luck on your weight loss efforts. I'm sure you'll have much success and I look forward to getting to know you better. The ladies here are great and will support you 100%.

Take Care, Jena

80 lbs is an amazing accomplishment! My husband is recovering from shingles too. I have never seen something so painful in my life. Curious and you don't have to share if you don't want to, but what medication are you on for it? They gave my husband a med that made him SO sick....it was unreal. He got Shingles in the beginning of October and its just been recently that he can function without pain. I read your post about getting on the treadmill last night. Sounds like it is definitely too soon for that! Take it easy...you CAN lose weight, albeit at a slower pace, just by managing your diet. Thats the same boat I am in now recovering from a c section.

HI..

I also have kids born really close together.
DD was born in Feb 04 and DS was born 16 months later in June 05

I was heavy to start with.. Got pg w/ DD at 270 lbs, gained 30, lost 30 then got pg w/ DS when i was 301, gained 42, and I am now down to 280.

my best piece of advise it to take it 1 meal/snack at a time. and if you happen to crave a piece of chocolate, have a little bit of it, ( just don't eat the entire bag.)
