As most of you know I am on my 4th week of dealing with shingles. Well, I went to my doctor today for a follow-up and I lost 3 lbs. since last week according to their scale (I'm still going by my scale because it says I weigh less, so I can't wait to weigh in on Monday!) Anyway, she gave me the okay to start working out again. I can even use the weight machines I just can't lie on my back or do anything that would cause pressure to my breast or back. She said that the pain can last up to six weeks so she wants me to take the nerve pain medication for two more weeks and then start decreasing it and see how I feel. The nerve damage to my breast and my back can come back when I am under stress. So, she said it's important to keep things calm in my life (I'm Bipolar - this is going to be a challenge, but it can be done with God's help). She also said it's very rare to get shingles twice and that you never get shingles in the same place. So, I am encouraged. I was confused last week when she told me the nerve damage could cause pain for months or even years. It can, but only when you are under stress. I think this will be over with soon - THANK GOD!!! Thanks guys for being patient with me as I went through this.
Take Care, Jena
