I was sooooooo hungry last night and worried about Christmas. I am on social security disability due to being bipolar and having hypothyroidism which means I have a very limited income. Anyway, I was worried about that and I didn't have that much to eat for dinner. I had 1/2 c. whole wheat pasta, 1/2 c. spaghetti sauce and 1/4 c. cheese with a spinach salad with low-fat dressing. I don't think I had enough protein cause by 9 PM I was starving even with my snack of 12 almonds and an apple. I drank 2 glasses of hot herbal tea and that still wouldn't satisfy. I got up at 12 AM had lots of peanut butter, milk, a banana, 1/2 bag of potato chips and some pretzels. I felt sick afterwards. I ate it all so quickly and it was like I wasn't really even present. Oh well, today's a new day, right?

You're right; today is a brand new day, "with no mistakes in it," to quote Anne of Green Gables. Love her! Make each day a fresh new start!
I hear ya on worrying about Christmas; my dh is also on temporary disability for headaches and I'm a substitute teacher so I don't work every day...money has become more of an issue than it has been in years. I wish I could just tell everyone not to give us presents and we won't either...let's just enjoy the spirit of the season and be thankful for what we do have. They probably wouldn't go for it, so I guess we'll have to suck it up somehow. Fortunately, we don't have a long shopping list!
PS: When I have pasta, I make it a cup of noodles with half a cup of meat sauce. Do you put meat in yours? I have about 2 oz. lean ground beef and then an ounce or two of parmesean, a pretty low-fat cheese. Pasta doesn't stick with me too long, though. I'm hungry enough for a snack before bed. I've been making us a cup of sugar-free, fat free pudding with 1% milk several nights a week. It gives a cup of dairy and a starch, and that gets me though until I can fall asleep in bed!
Good luck to you, Jena. Congratulations on all the weight you've lost so far!
