Charley! I have a couple MOTW questions for you
And a few from me, for starters...
What is your favorite tool or gadget in the kitchen?
Which is your favorite James Bond?
Did you have an "aha" moment that started you on your weight loss journey?
1) What do you look like? (I wasn't sure if that pic in your profile is you)
Yeah, the pic is me, but it's about 4 years old, I am 5'3, with waist length blond hair, green eyes and freckles, which breed during the summer. I don't tan, I freckle.
2) What are 4 of your most favorite things?
That's a hard one, I would have to say Mark, my animals (2 dogs and 2 cats), my surfboard, and my piano, but my book collection ranks really high up there too, and all my other instruments (I play 7) I think that pretty much covers it.
What is your favorite tool or gadget in the kitchen?
oh that one's easy, I like the big knife, normally I'm not allowed to play with them (I've had some accidents in the past) but it's good for cutting the big stuff, mincing the little stuff, and you can't do garlic properly without a really big knife.
Which is your favorite James Bond?
I only acknowledge 2 Bonds, Sean Connery and Pierce Brosnan, one has the voice with the accent that even though I know he's like 70, is still hot, and the other is just hot. I haven't seen the new one yet, so I don't have an opinion yet.
Did you have an "aha" moment that started you on your weight loss journey? If so, what was it?
It was when my mom did this calander that has pictures of everybody in the family on the month of their birthday, mine is in March and there were some pics that I liked, some when I was little and some when I was skinny, and then there was one where I looked like a fat smurf (I had blue hair at the time, why did I EVER do that look?) I was so shocked by how much I had changed that I had to do something about it.
And the good stuff... how did you and Mark first meet?
We first met on my 21st birthday according to him, but I remember nothing about that day as I was drinking Mind Erasers that definately lived up to their name. But when we first became friends he was working at a restaurant down the plaza from me and we would trade, food for movies and cd's. Then we started hanging out together. Even though we were both attracted to each other neither of us thought we would be anything other than friends because of the age difference. One night we were just sitting on the back porch having a couple of drinks and one thing led to another. 2 months later we were living together and we've been together for over 3 years. The only rough patch was when he went to Houston to take care of his mom while she was dying of cancer. He was gone for almost a year, and now has a job out there running 7 restaurants and opening 33 more in the next 2 years across the country. Which is why I'll be moving in a few months.
Thanks for being such a good sport!!!
*De nada, and thanks for putting up with the rambling, I don't do short answers very well.
What island do you live on and how did you end up there??
Where did you grow up?

What island do you live on and how did you end up there??
Right now I'm living on the island of Lana'i, but I've also lived on South Padre Island, I tend to stay pretty close to the water, since it's really hard to surf on a mountain.
Where did you grow up?
Oh, well, all kinds of places, I have lived in (in chronological order) North Dakota, Nebraska, Oklahoma, New Mexico (also went back there to go to college) Colorado, Utah, Arizona, Texas, California, Missouri, and Hawaii (still here). I think I missed one but I'm not really sure.
Tell us more about island life?
Island life is like life anywhere else, on Valium. It's just really laid back, I don't think I've worn a pair of real shoes in at least 4 years, except when I went to a wedding this summer, then it was strappy sandals instead of flip flops. Most of us drink a little too much, but no one really cares because a cab is only $4. It is really small, and not a lot of people, so everyone just becomes family. We tend to run a little behind the rest of the country when it comes to technology and news and all that stuff. But we are too self-absorbed and running the gossip mill to notice. I think it's going to be a HUGE culture shock going from here to a big city, here if I do something stupid at a bar on one end of the island, the news will beat me to the bar on the other end, that kind of thing travels fast, so I guess I'll have to enjoy it while I can.
What are your three great hopes for yourself in the next 10 years?
What are three great hopes you have for the world?
What's something of tremendous sentimental value to you that anyone else would see as junk?
Annie
P.S. Parting with a book is like having a tooth pulled!
