Ah, Thanksgiving

Well, Thanksgiving has come and thankfully has past. I didn't do too bad either. I got to play with my friends little one, and she is adorable, she doesn't speak any English, but she is really sweet, and we played most of the afternoon while waiting for food to be done. Mark was with us and he didn't even have to cook, I guess when you are a chef you don't like cooking on all your days off. So we had a lot of fun. As always when there are a bunch of us together we had a few too many drinks, but as long as they are made with diet coke it's still ok according to me. My new favorite saying when it comes to these things is "I reject your reality and create my own" Either way, I still love doing dinners with the people I care about, we usually get together once a month anyway and take turns cooking, but for some reason Thanksgiving and Christmas are still different, even if we still do the same thing. Everyone is in a good mood. If everyone likes spending time with their friends and family, why don't we do these things more often?

Sounds like a lovely thanksgiving! I think you have the right attitude also. We walk a fine line between enjoying ourselves and going overboard, but I do think it's doable. I didn't do too badly either, I tried to make sure that the only thing I "over-ate" was turkey, since that's pretty healthy. And it was delicious too! I ate a lot of turkey, lol, but didn't do too badly with the other stuff. I always love get togethers too and wish we'd do them more...I guess we just get into our daily ruts and sometimes it's hard to get out. That sounds like a worthwhile goal for 2007: get together with friends and family more, and make the food healthy! It's more good practice on portion patrol and focusing on the people instead of the food.
