Ive been trying to work on a response to you for awhile now. I dont want to come off as unsupportive because I am SO supportive of anyone who has done as much work as you or really anyone who has the desire, drive and will. Having said that, I think the reason you are off the wagon with such a resounding thud is because of the diet you are on. It is SO restrictive. I personally think that anyone would hit the wall at some point and you have come SO much further than the average bear. I think you should call your dr, let him know what is happening. He can best help get you on the right track for your best physical (and mental) health. Good luck,

Hope you don't mind if I jump in here....Girl you CAN do this! Don't give up! Everything you were saying in your first post I have said to myself (ironically I was also in a size 18 and was trying to talk myself back onto plan). I just want to let you know what my hind sight told me when I realized I weighed 305 pounds and was a size 26:

Maybe you should have just thrown the pie at your ex?

Why do we use food to punish ourselves while telling ourselves it will make us feel better? Even though it never works? When I solve that one, I'm going to write a book and be rich.

You DESERVE to eat on plan...you DESERVE that great feeling of accomplishment you get when you get to the end of the day and say 'I did it - I stayed on plan'. You DESERVE the thrill you get when you run home from a weigh in and proclaim your weight loss to the board.

Look at what you have survived the past few months - you've been making one kind of new life for yourself with your weight loss and had to make another kind when life handed you some crappy stuff - and you did it!

What an awesome person you are - don't give up on the happiness that you have been making for yourself. The great thing about life is that we get 'tomorrow' to try again.

Wishing you a great tomorrow!

Hey Dani,
I know how frustrated you are over this and honestly feel a lot like you do. I didn't have the dramatic loss that you did, but for the first time in my life I seemed to find a way to lose steadily and then *POOF* it's like none of it ever happened. I keep trying to recapture the feeling, the motivation, the attitude I had before the turn.

Maybe this is part of the learning process we need to experience? Maybe the secret to really losing it all and keeping it off is to understand not just the mechanics that are necessary but the emotional components too? Seriously, we're smart women! I'm going to try to see this as a stop on the way to some living-thin enlightenment. One day we'll wake up and see it every day, I know it.

Hugs,
Annie
