Cripes! It's Friday already, and I have more questions to fit in...
1) You're shipwrecked on a deserted island (but definitely not physically harmed in any way!), and you can only save a total of six books/CDs/movies, in any combination. Did I mention that your deserted island comes equipped with solar-powered CD/DVD players? It does. Only the best for you. Anyway, which would you choose?
And, no, your iPod, if you have one, didn't make it out alive. Sorry. ;-)
2) What gift (just for yourself) would you most like to receive this holiday season?
3) Favorite memory from childhood?
4) And, of course, the classic: how did you and DH meet? Was it spontaneous combustion or slow, steadily growing warmth?
Thank you for satisfying my previous "itch", Annie, and I hope you don't mind these quuestions either!
Misha, you know I’m all about dishing out the thinking woman’s questions, so I applaud this torturous collection you came up with.

Ooh, so hard!! I’m going to pick two of each for variety.
Books: I’d have to pick two that were big, honking escapist reads. Let’s say Shogun by James Clavell and Moby Dick so that I could look with wonder at the ocean around me.
CD: Melissa Etheridge, Brave and Crazy so that I could sing at the top of my lungs and feel like superwoman. And U2 All that You Can’t Leave Behind
Movies: Moonstruck Any time, any place, any where. Always makes me laugh And something to keep me from feeling sorry for myself, The Sound of Music (Plus soundtrack gives me bonus music.)

Material stuff? At the moment it would be a standing mixer. I’m currently baking mountains of biscotti to give to DH’s employees using my 17 year old hand mixer.
3) Favorite memory from childhood?
Definitely hiking, fishing, picnicking in the Pennsylvania state game lands in central PA with my family. We started doing it when I was really small and my dear dad carried me on many more hikes than my own (then) little feet. LOL I remember feeling ripped off as I got older because we didn’t go to Disney, the beach, or any other “exotic” places, but I would relive any one of those trips in a heartbeat!
4) And, of course, the classic: how did you and DH meet? Was it spontaneous combustion or slow, steadily growing warmth?
I went to Chicago with some friends, one of whom was going to a fraternity reunion. Another of whom I had been in an on-again/off-again dating situ with tons of mixed messages from him. (I was 26 so it had been a while since I’d been to a frat house.) Anyhoo, DH was a former frat brother and when we were introduced there was a definite thunderbolt and the other guy and I pretty much went on our separate ways. DH and I played quarters for a good bit of the evening. He was living in Chicago and when the night ended we both pretty much said, “If you’re ever in town…” Well, six months later he moved back to town. I was still friends with the other two guys, and they had announced that they were, uh, LOVERS! I invited DH to a Christmas party at my apartment and the rest, as they say, is history! That was December 1990.
Oh, that is CLASSIC! Talk about "meeting cute"... and "mixed messages". I would definitely be ROFL if I could find a patch not buried under kiddie-loot and the wrappings for it at the moment!
Good luck with the biscotti...
