Just want to welcome all the newbies who've started lately. It's very nice to meet everyone! I look forward to posting with all of you.

Yay, me! I finally had my first weigh-in since seriously starting my healthy eating plan, and I've lost 12 lbs. in six weeks! I'm so excited. It was so amazing to see that much of a drop at once. I'd recently bought a scale, because I thought that 6-8 weeks was too long to go between weigh-ins, but now I'm not so sure. I guess I will weigh at home every two weeks, which should be plenty. I am trying to focus on lifestyle changes and not the number on the scale....but it does feel awfully good to see that number go down!

I can do anything I set out to do...

I'm just doing a 1200 calorie "diabetic" diet, which is just balanced eating based on the "food exchange" list that the ADA has. I think it can be easily found online. I haven't even been that careful to have 1200/day, some days it's more, but I try to make sure my overages are things like turkey breast or a small piece of cheese or reduced fat peanut butter. I think I'll have to get tougher as my weight gets lower though! But for now, life is good.
