HI Everyone, I am too, new to this type of discussion board. I have never ever been in one, but after reading most of the posting it seems very motivating. I am 34 yrs old and I weigh a SADLY 273 lbs. I serious don't know where it came from, probably stress. Anyway, enough with looking for excuses, I have been prescribed Xenical by my Dr. whom, stated that it is medically necessary for me to take ASAP. What do you guys think about this? I have not purchased them yet, but I guess I better soon. I don't even know where to start, but I guess from the bottom huh? :0). My husband is very very supportive, and I am grdauating next year with a BA in education. So I want to enter my new career as a different person.

Good Luck to all, and have a wonderful holiday.

Nena

Hi Nena, and Welcome. I'm Susan and I'm new to the board too. I have never heard of Xenical so I'm curious as to what it is. The last time I was weighed I was at 277 on a 5'4" frame and for right now I would like to loose about 20-25 lbs. DH and I were trying to conceive but with two miscarriages we decided that it was probably best that we both loose some weight. So good luck to you and Merry Christmas to you and yours. -Susan

Hi Susan
Thanks for answering quickly, what is "DH" I can see it means husband but what are the initials? I too have experienced a miscarriage. My daughter passed away at birth 3 years ago, and about 1 year ago I had a misscarriage and we have been trying to concieve for the longest time. I know that statistics are with loosing weight in order to get pregnant, but I have friends that are twice my size and keep having children. So that saddens me the most, anyway, I need help and I am afraid of taking Xenical but I guess if the Dr. prescribed them then I better take them. It has strong sid affects as far as loosing the fat, I have been reading on it, but the Dr. said I had too. So what do you think?

Welcome Nena,
I don't really have any advice on the meds your doctor prescribed. Have you made serious attempts to lose on your own in the past? Maybe the Xenical would help jump start you. Congratulations on being so close with your BA. That is fantastic! Looking forward to having you around! Annie

Hi Nena,
I'm sorry to hear about your miscarriage and your daughter passing away 3 years ago. It's really hard, I know. It's weird, how some women can get pregnant and have healthy viable baby. I want that so much for me and my DH (dear husband). Someday it will happen. Just hang in there!

I read the other posts about Xenical but I honestly don't know what to think about it. I am going to have to look it up and read about it. Has your family doctor given you a referral to see a nutrionist? I'm going to call my doctor tomorrow because I would like to see a nutrionist and see what they suggest. I'm the type of person who likes to try new things and I see this as something new.

My #1 problem that I have is my portions, when I eat I eat large amounts and I know I shouldn't. It's also so hard for me not to eat. I always feel like I have to be eating something. I wish I was like my parents cause when they drink water, they feel full and when I drink water it doesn't feel me up. What are some of the problems you face with dieting?

Well I should go, this post is long enough. Take care. -Susan
