I was going to post each individual one of you but I am short on time and there are so many suddenly that I just wanted to shout out a welcome aboard and good luck!!!!
I'd like to join with Angela in welcoming everyone! I think this place will be jumping in January, lol. I'm glad to see so many new "faces" and we can all help each other through what will likely be one of the most difficult things we've ever done: To care about ourselves enough to take off all this dangerous weight. For good.
There are so many ways we can fill ourselves up without food during this Holiday season. No matter which holiday you celebrate, it's a time for families, friends, giving and receiving. Tell your partner you love him/her. Hug your kids, if you have them. Take a walk in the snow and appreciate Nature's beautiful winter display. Take some quiet time to meditate on all the blessings in your life and thank the Universe for this precious life you've been given. Play some games, have a holiday treat or two, and just be there for those who love you.
We can still enjoy the holidays without eating out of control...there's a big difference between that and worrying about every bite that goes into your mouth. Try to be mindful of what you eat, but don't be mentally beating yourself up for it. It's okay to splurge a little, holidays are for that too, and then go back to The Plan when the festivities are over. We can't be in a hurry to see the numbers drop; it's really all about lifestyle changes and changing our attitudes toward food.
Well, just waxing a bit philosophic. If you got this far, I thank you for reading and indulging me. Merry Christmas/Happy Hanukkah/Kwanzaa/Yule and big hugs to all!
