I just bought a pedal exerciser from QVC that was about $40 including shipping. It's item number V19649 if you want to take a look online, www.qvc.com . You can sit in a regular chair and pedal the thing or you can use it for upper body strengthening as well. I thought it would be perfect to use in front of the TV or even under the computer table! Your position would be more like that of a recumbent bicycle, which is supposed to be better for you anyway than a regular bike.

I think you could probably find a similar item anywhere that sells homecare items. It's aimed at people who have mobility problems or can't get out much, but I think anyone could benefit from using it. It gets the circulation going and gets your muscles in the habit of moving if you haven't exercised in awhile. The lady demonstrating it said she'd just had a baby, so she was using it for cardio.

I'll let you know if I like it when it arrives!

I just got the exercise bean for christmas - I LOVE IT! :) it's another that cradles your back - it's like one of those exercise balls, but really works so many parts of your body. I was so psyched.
