Time for me to ride the train to success

Everyone talking about the New year new you attitiude. Well there have been so many changes in my life, and I am bound and determined to get me a treadmill when we move into the new house one way or another so I can finally get this train moving down the track. My goal for this year it to hit 200 pounds by December 31st 2007. There will be mini-goals along the way but that is my ultimate goal. I hope to do better than 50 lbs but I am going to be conservative. I have already lost 6 lbs since going back to work so I am hoping this is an attainable goal and that my not being in the house all the time and staring at the same walls and no one to talk to but kiddos will help me to finally achieve success with weight loss. I have quite a walk to get from the parking lot to the office, and since I am doing that after having not exercised in quite some time then I think this is a good start til we move next month! Then I will get me a treadmill and up the ante so to speak, by them I should be able to handle walking 20 min straight without keeling over from an asthma attack....LOL at least I hope so. Then I will slowly work my way up to 45 min at a time.

I haven't had the best luck with this weightloss thing, I mean geez I only lost 9 lbs in 2006 and that bounced back and forth for the most part. This is the time to say goodbye to some more weight. I am erring on the side of caution and being conservative instead of hoping for dramatic drops in the hopes I do not get so discouraged.

Angela,
Welcome Aboard!

You are always so good at welcoming everyone to the board that I didn't want you to think no one noticed you were back on the Train!

I wish you'd reconsider joining the 'Trip Across the country' challenge - even if 'all' you add is a couple miles a week to the total, its a contribution - and I'd love to 'visit' you in Alabama...I've been to Columbus, Georgia but never to Alabama, and I'd like to have you describe it to us.

Either way though, happy chug-chug-chugging along - I think we can-I think we can-I know we can!

SJ, Thanks a lot for not letting me go unnoticed.

I would be glad to let you all stop here in Millbrook, Al or even Troy, Al or Prattville for me to describe but as I haven't been to too many places even in my own state enough to describe them I am afraid that is limited. The only real exercise I get is walking back and forth to my van from the office and it might add up to 2 milies a week. I am not exactly sure how far it it just a long and uphill walk to the office from the parking lot!

Just record the time and we'll assume average speed of 3MPH, so 1 hr = 3 miles. If you want, just record the time and I'll convert it (I already set the excel sheet for tracking)

So glad you are IN! I can hardly wait to get to Prattville....

My mother has a million sayings - at least one for any occasion, and of course, they live in my head...and all I keep thinking about your 'only a few miles' is 'You know what the lady said when she peed in the ocean? Every little bit helps!'

See you on down the line!

Hi Angela -- I started off after reading your first post thinking -- EXACTLY:

As for the water war and the travel the country challenges I won't participate in as I don't want to let a team down with the water (LOL I have a hard time with the water) and I don't get enough exercise at present to really contribute so I will stay out of that...

I'm NOT a water drinker -- the past two days of water drinking have been so foreign and it is hard to make myself get that glass of water instead of grabbing a diet coke!
