Happy New Year!
| Tue, 01-02-2007 - 1:51am |
Hello there.
I used to come to this board about a year and a half ago, and found it most helpful to my weight loss. It's so unusual to find a board with people that have weight issues too, not just of 5-20lbs!
Anyhow, I am back again, and hopefully going to keep my new years resolution, to get fitter and healthier than ever in 2007. The problem is if I am LUCKY - I manage to remain motivated for a couple of months and then the weight gain cycle starts again! I really need you guys help to keep me on track - as well as massive amounts of motivation!
I am hoping today is the start of a new healthier lifestyle!
Leah.

Welcome back, Leah. I have a new philosophy: there is no "luck" involved in losing weight. It's all hard work and effort and we all have the power to make it happen. Everyone falls off the wagon now and then, but the important thing is to get right back on! You can do it.
I won't say "Good luck" anymore, but Best Wishes for your success in the new year.
Mary
Leah,
I hear you! I am a first time user of this message board and have found it to be great because there are so many people here who are experiencing what I am! Like yourself...I can really relate. I seem to be able to lose 20-25 lbs. very easily, even though I need to lose more, I always start sliding the other way - then go all the way back passed where I was and gain more. I can not find the key to making it stick long term. I start exercising - walking, riding the stationary bike - making good eating choices, lose the weight, feel great, fall off with the exercise and don't pay such close attention to what I'm eating and before I know it, all the weight is back on. And I have such hope and optimism. I really feel like the boy who cried wolf. I keep telling myself that if I didn't keep trying I'd be even heavier, but that's beginning to get thin, even with me. I need to find the way that these changes are going to stick with me forever! So, maybe working together is the answer, or part of the answer. I'm hoping so! Hang in there!
Welcome back to the board Leah! and Happy New Year to you too!!
Here's to a healthier lifestyle for all of us this year!
