Hi everyone,
My name is Tina and I live in Antioch, CA. I'm 38 years old. I live with my DH of 8 years, Leland, and our three dogs. I am type 2 diabetic and weigh 340 pounds!
I was diagnosed almost two years ago and have not been taking the diagnosis seriously. I have been feeling really crappy lately so I have vowed to make 2007 the year I finally get my butt in gear and do something about my health.
So this morning I began what I am calling my healthly living plan for 2007! I am going to watch what I eat, exercise, drink a lot of water, and just try to be as healthy as I possibly can.
I have decided to set small goals so that I do not get discouraged. My first set of goals are for January. I want to lose 10 pounds by the 31st. I want to get my morning blood sugar reading down to 225 (it was 247 this morning). I also want to do my WATP DVD 1 mile every day in January. Come February 1st I will see how I am doing and make new goals for that month.
I'm hoping that joining these boards will help keep me motivated and also encourage me. I think I need to hear other people's experiences!
So I just wanted to introduce myself! I look forward to meeting lots of new people here on these boards!

Welcome, Tina! Sounds like you've got a smart plan and are headed in the right direction. Diabetes is nothing to mess with; there can be many long-term complications if you let it go, which I'm sure you know (not lecturing, lol).
You're a fur-mom like I am! We have four cats. Four spoiled, moody, girl-cats. I don't know how my DH puts up with us.
I look forward to posting and losing with you in 2007!
