Hello all... I am joining this message board tonight with my pal "shangh". We have made a resolution to loose at least one hundred pounds... me more than her but we plan to work together. We are having a contest starting Jan 15th to May 20th. May 20th I graduate from university and am moving back home. Then we will start the weight watchers formal program. Shangh has 2 beautiful children and I am wanting to be thinner for when my boyfriend decides to propose.. I know its coming. Please post any tips you may have for Shangh and I ... thanks and good luck to you all.

How are you both
I plan on starting exercising more..going for walks..even though its winter and I hate the outdoors.....Jill told me to bundle up and do
I am starting similar to Shannon. I am cutting out sugar and increasing the walking and the water. I got the idea from another lady on here. I play rugby at school so I am going to strive to hit 4 practices a week. My goal is to loose 200 pounds. Is there anyone else out there that is looking to loose that much. Its so much to think of like that but I am thinking of having mini goals of 8.3 pounds a month. 12 x 8.3= 100 pounds in a year. Do those goals sound realistic? Im not sure I have tried so many times and failed. Let me know what you all think..

My highest weigh/starting weight is similar to yours.
I weighed 341 a week or 2 after i had my last baby.. which was in June of 2005
at the beginning of 2006 i weighed 321 and on jan 1st 2007 i was 280.6
I personally aim to lose 2 lbs a week, but looking at my "history" it usually doesn't happen
Losing 100 lbs in 1 year can be done, i had a good friend who lost a little over 100 lbs in 1 year, she was doing the slimfast diet and exercizing (swimming & walking) about 4-5x a week.

I do believe that losing 100 pounds in one year is possible and reasonable.

I am excited about losing the weight :) I am kinda newly single (since aug)..so it will make me feel better about myself now ;)
Thanks guys for all the encouragement. Shannon and I are really psyched and have a lot of positive energy flowing through us right now. I think this just may be my year for change. I will re evaluate my goal after the first month... seeing just how relalistic it actually is for me. My DBF has non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and I am seeing just how bad of an influence I am on him and I feel terrible about that. It is unhealthy for me to have all this extra weight on me but even more so for him. The doctor has ordered that he loose weight immediately and I dont want to be a bad influence on him anymore. I love him and could not live without him. Also another huge motivating factor for me is my dad having terminal life threatning cancer. I know it would mean so much to him to see me shed some pounds. So Happy new year and LETS DO THIS!!!!
