THE STRAWBERRY CHEESE DANISH THAT BROKE THE CAMELS BACK--

I was doing pretty well. I really was. I've been on SlimFast for a week, eating healthy dinners, drinking lots of water, and exercising. I've even come up with a tiered exercise/reward system for myself with personal goals and challenges. Yesterday, I was grabbing a tea from Tim Hortons, and I slipped. It was a strawberry cheese danish, and I ate the whole thing. And then the guilt kicked in, which was strange in and of itself, as I've never felt guilty for eating anything. But in the guilt kicked, and I felt like going to peices, and giving up and eating nothing but chips and cookies and drinking three boxes of canned pop. I got back into the car and drove to the grocery store. But when I got out and started loading the bags into my car, it wasn't chips and pop I've bought. I had impulsively bought two fish fillets, some fresh parsley, a tub of yogurt, and a bottle of Omega-3s. Oh happy day!!

Yesterday, I learned that one slip doesn't condem you to a life of stuffing yourself silly. There's always another camel :D

Good for you, Evelyn! You didn't let that guilt get the better of you and ruin everything you've accomplished so far. We all fall off from time to time, but we can still do it and we're still successful if we get right back on. When a baby who's learning to walk falls down, everyone doesn't say, "OMG, the baby can't walk!" They say, "Oops!" and the baby gets up and keeps going. That's us; baby steps!

Have a great day!

Your note made me smile! We've all been there, so nice to hear that the reaction was to get some good health stuff! :)

Great job recognizing that you have control over the next step you take!

This journey is a very, very long one and it isn't an 'all or nothing' proposition - its just making better choices more often....congratulations on making a good choice!
