Darn you, digital scale!

I decided a digital scale would be more reliable so...I went to Wal-Mart today and bought one for about $30. I threw out my old scale and my hubby programed it. I weighed 265 on my old scale and now on my NEW and improved scale(drum roll, please) I weigh 274! Darn, darn, darn!

I know the new scale is more accurate, and I know I didn't gain weight, it's justle a little defeating. I know during the last week or so I lost 4 lbs. I know that's good...I just want to return the old scale and tell customer service it had the wrong number on it! I'm just kidding. I guess I'm starting at 274 and I'll use this scale all year. I'm only going to weigh once a week so we'll see what happens next week. (sigh)

I'm sorry to hear this because I think my scale (which I've had for like 20 years) died this morning...and I expect I might find I have a new 'actual' weight on a new scale.

I didn't throw it out yet - I'm praying to the god of scales that it was just a little tired today and will work tomorrow...ever hopeful of miracles...

The stores should let us try out scales (in rooms with LOCKS) until we find one that gives us a weight we like - kind of like when you shop in the stores that have 'vanity sizes' and even though you know you were NEVER a certain size, you'd buy ugly clothes just because you want to be that size...

Maybe I should just measure - my tape measure won't lie!

Oh, Samie! Don't let it discourage you. No matter what the number difference between the old scale and the new one, the number of pounds you've lost stays the same. Focus on that and be proud ;0)

Thanks! I like your idea!

My (skinny)sister and I were shopping at Chicos (I don't know if they have those everywhere) and they only have sizes 1, 2 and 3. They are vanity sizes (a size 1 is really a size 8 and so on). So silly! Oh if I could only shop anywhere for clothes.

Good luck. May your new scale be kind to you!

Bummer!! But it's probably best that you got a new scale. And as you said, it's not like you gained any real weight. I wish I kept my old scale though, it's still at my partents house and it says 165!! I'm at goal weight there LOL
