OK I am kind of getting tired of my same between lunch and supper snack...oranges, pickles, cucumbers, yogurt...things like that. I was wondering what everyone else snacked on. Any suggestions would be great..and I am up for trying anything. Thanks, Lisa

Well, I don't get to snack much because I'm on a low carb, low fat etc.

Great ideas! I am mainly counting calories, drinking tons of water and excersicing. So far its working. Ive lost 22 pounds fairly quickly. Im trying to get a better and healthier lifestyle. My sister in law was on the low carb diet and now she is half the size she was. Good luck to us both!

Several years ago I discovered Wasa bread (it's called "bread", but it's really like a cracker) It's wonderful with a little peanut butter or even some light cream cheese. Most all of the varities of Wasa bread have little more than 11 grams of carbs.
I posted this same question about a week ago under the "Hints, Tips and Recipe" section (scroll down). I'll copy my snacks. There are more posts down there so check it out.:-)
Veggies and fat free Ranch dressing
Fat free sour cream mixed with powdered ranch or powdered french onion soup mix (as a dip)
Low fat Hummus with pita, melba toast or raw green peppers(I make the hummus myself if you want the recipe)
Whole grain English Muffin with low fat peanut butter (just a little) and no sugar jelly
White Cheddar Rice Cakes
Fat free cream cheese and celery
Fat free cottage cheese and fruit
Toast or garlic bread with low fat spaghetti sauce and Kraft fat free mozerella cheese sprinkles (I hate fat free cheese but this kind melted is awesome)
Smoothies (fat free yogurt, frozen berries in lieu of ice and a little bit of juice or fat free milk)

This is so easy I'm not sure I can even call it a recipe!
Samie's Hummus
1 Can of Chick Peas (AKA Garbanzo beans)
1 Tablespoon dried ground Cumin (find in the spice section of the grocery store)
Juice of 1/2 a lemon -or- a squirt of bottled lemon juice (it's stronger)
1 Pinch of salt
1 Clove of fresh garlic minced (or more if you like a stronger garlic taste)
1 Tablespoon of Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1. Drain can of chick peas and set liquid aside
2. Combine drained chick peas and above ingredients in a blender or food processor
3. Pulse for a few seconds, then add a little of the chick pea juice you set aside and blend. Keep adding juice until you get the consistency you want.
4. Taste! Add more salt and/or cumin if you'd like (I like mine about the same consistency slightly thinner than peanut butter)
5. Serve with pita chips, fresh pita, veggies, pretzles, etc.
I just made without olive oil for the first time. I just used the chick pea juice instead. It makes the whole thing fat free! Be careful with the salt and cumin, you can always mix more in at the end. :-)
I second the popcorn idea.. espcially if you want to munch for no reason, you have a large volume to munch on.
Right now I'm a big fan of baked apples
I also like to mash a banana and add some yogurt (my son's favorite snack right now)
