Newly joining...125 pounds to go.

I'm about to try and lose 100+ pounds in 2007. I'm currently 313 pounds, 6'2", and recently gave birth to my 3rd - and final - beautiful child. Two girls, last one is a boy.

The approach I'm taking is a healthy eating style (healthy inspirations type - where I used to go) and working out frequently.

I'm nervous because I don't stick to the healthy eating very well - any chance to goof up I take it. So I'm trying to be good, focus, change my behavior, and not goof up anymore. Or at least only when I plan to!

I hate going this alone - I'm not good at that. So I decided trying this message board might be helpful. Getting tips/tricks from others and their support would be great.

I started last week - lost 1 pound and promptly gained it back this weekend eating poorly. Thus why I came to the message board. That is just too disappointing a behavior pattern to continue.

I want to be an example to my children and be there for them. I eclampsia or high blood pressure post delivery that I'm not controlling well with meds. I need to lose the weight and get healthy. Last time I did that I lost 40 pounds.

I'm still 30 pounds lighter of the 40 I lost - 10 pounds after a pregnancy is not bad. But I want to get it ALL off now.

Sorry so long - hope to get some friends and companions out of this and help each other along the way.

Hey Camay,

I assure you that you will get nothing but support from this board. It has become an addiction for me. And after being here it kinda makes me feel guilty if I reach for something I don't need. It also helps remind me to drink the water I need to drink. I don't respond to each post but I am usually here at least twice a day. I understand the getting off and getting on thing. I think a lot of us have been there and done that. As for the long post, it's cool. The more you talk the more someone will relate. Use this board as therapy, we don't mind. We'd rather you get it out here than to beat yourself up and end up going on a binge or something. So good luck and stay strong. We can do this!!! Welcome!!!

Thanks for responding to my post about the fruit and veggies. I'll try buying those. Being in school that should save me some time too. TTYL!

Welcome! I'm new here too and everyone here is just great! You will get lots of advice and encouragement here.

I am also adopting a Healthy Living Plan, not a diet. I am setting small monthly goals so that I do not get discouraged. So far I have done really well! I lost 7.6 pounds my first week. I know you can do it too!

We are all here for each other!!!

Welcome aboard Camay, and congratulations on your recent budle of joy!!

I'm not following a specific plan myself, I'm trying to eat healthier and move more.. it's a slow process but I it's a lifestyle change and I am enjoying the journey to a healthier me. One big motivation for me is to teach my son by example. I don't want him to have weight problems when he grows up. I don't allow my son to eat chocolate all day, so I shouldn't do that either (he doesn't really like chocolate though, he takes after his father.. weird people! LOL).

Did you ever consider journaling? I find it very helpful. You can also keep an online journal here if you want and we can give you feedback.

Welcome aboard!!
