Hi, I believe I've found the place for me. As I sit here with my tummy hanging over my lap! I really need to be accountable to someone, and I keep finding reasons to not go to group type meetings. Sooo, I'm really hoping that participation in an online support group will help. I've never really done this so if I make mistakes please let me know. I'm exited about the prospect of getting healthier.

Welcome aboard!! I'm glad you're joining us.

I hope we can offer you the support you need in this journey. We have a lot of fantastic ladies aboard and they are very supportive and encouraging. We have two challenges going on right now, feel free to join any of them (I'll tell you more if you like). Otherwise feel free to post on any threads or make new threads, we're pretty friendly here :)

Did you decide on how to you're going to start? Are you following a specific plan? Are you planning to exercise?

Looking forward to knowing you better

Thank you for your warm welcome. I began keeping a food diary a couple of days ago it has always worked very well in the past. I am having a really difficult time exercising. It is sooo cold and rainy, it's much easier to either go onto the computer or curl up in front of the tv. When I actually see that in writing, it's kinda ridiculous. The weather is certainly not keeping me from exercising at home is it. oh well, nice try. I am definitely interested in learning more about the challenges. Thanks again.

I AM EXITED TO BE HERE! Finally women who understand that being only 30 lbs overweight would actually be a rather pleasant place to be right now.

Right now we have 2 challenges.. One for water, and one for exercise.

The water challenge (Water War!!): We have 2 teams (red & blue) competing in a water war. Each team is logging how much water they're drinking. Water, Crystal lite, and herbal tea count as "water". If you're interested, you can join the blue team (because they're missing some of their members this week)

The exercise challenge (Travelling the Country): Everybody is working for a collective goal: to travel around the US visiting each other. We log our exercise (the miles you get from cardio machines, or steps from pedometers, or minutes from other exercise). If you want to join us, just start logging any exercise you do.

Folders for the challenges are in the "Journals & Challenges" section of the board. (Scroll down)

Welcome :) I am thrilled you found us. I know what it's like to have your tummy hanging on your lap. It's frustrating, sad, and you feel awful. But you have made a humungous step in joining us. Between all of us here, there isn't anything you are going thru in your personal life or with your feelings about the weight, or your new determination to be healthy, that one of us hasn't experienced.

So no matter what it is you are going thru, you aren't alone. We are here and we know its possible to succeed :)

I am so glad you chose to lose with us. WELCOME!

Thank you Kim. I've already found that if I'm busy reading and posting messages on this site, I AM NOT EATING!! What a plus. Evenings are usually my weakest points of the day. When I'm at work I'm always trying to impress people with the fact that I don't eat all the stuff ( we normally have an average of 3-4 goodies on the lunchroom table). Like anyone is seriously fooled as I lumber down the hallways. : )

Hello and welcome. I also need to lose weight and I can't get to or let alone afford to go to weightloss therapy. I also find I like to eat at night as well that why I come on here and type so I can keep my fingers busy. I hope you love it here as much as I do.

thanks Rochelle, I am blown away by the honesty and genuine emotions displayed in these postings. Personally I find it much easier to write these feelings out online as opposed to sitting in front of a bunch of strangers, who because they are human, will judge me based upon my appearance. Unfortunately, that is what our society has come down to basing your importance on how you dress, how much money you have and what you look like. On this site, we're all equals.

Hello, I just wanted to take the time and welcome you to the board. You will find great support here. I joined a few weeks ago and at that time I was feeling down about sticking to a diet and now I don't feel as though I am "dieting", just watching what I eat and how big my portions are. I have to admit though it's been tough, but I am doing it. Can I make a suggestion to you? I noticed you said in one post that it's hard to exercise when it's rainy and cold outside. I went on ebay and bought a Leslie Sansone video I can do in my home. One of the members on here recommended her so I'm just suggesting it to you. You could also look on her web site and order it from there, but I just found it cheaper on ebay. Anyway, Good Luck to you and I look forward to getting to know you. -Susan
