I'm really down in the dumps right now and all I want is a Buffalo chicken sandwich with some chips.....how do I stop myself from eating it?

Hang in there! Maybe write down why you want it and how you are feeling! What really helps me is the saying around here, "nothing tastes as good as thin feels"! You can get thru this!

I felt the same way about icecream last night. I gave in to it and went into town and bought 1/2 a gallon of vanilla frozen yogurt and allowed myself 1/2 a cup. Boy did I feel so much better when I did. Today though I feel a little guilty. Perhaps instead of a whole buffalo chicken sandwich you could just eat half and have some baked chips with it?
Good Luck

Last year when I was in weightloss mode (just starting again now that I had a baby) I had a huge emotional year with much depression.

I found that listening to my favorite music and dancing (alone of course where no one could see me) made me feel so much better. Getting the "nasties" out - those things that play with our mind making us believe eating will heal it all.

Problem is - it won't as we know. Next day we feel more guilty, get more depressed, and the vicious circle starts.

Give in a little - get a taste - if you can do it. I know I can't - I can only do all or none. SO I try to find ways to get the emotions out of me - punch something, scream into a pillow, cry my eyes out, whatever.

Put on a movie that inspires you, watch a show that does the same, consult with a friend for some "shoulder" time.

Hopefully one of the above will help.

I know where your coming from. I been down for the last few days and I haven't been eating properly. Trust me I think that what made it worse for me to go off track. I agre with everyone's advice. Just try what works for you k.
