Okay. I'm going to ease into this diet. I love revolutionary beginnings. I always try to jump into things with both feet, and I end up busting my ass.

Slowly and surely, I want to lose 112 pounds. I'm well over 200 now, and I'm only 24. I'm a newly wed. My hubby loves me, but I don't think that he sees me realistically. It's nice to feel beautiful to him, though.

I have spent the last year commuting 3-4 hours a day and then eating with him when he gets home from working 2nd shift. That means that I usually eat dinner between 11 and midnight. I was eating four meals a day. Breakfast, Lunch, an early Dinner, and a late Dinner. We just moved, and we are still getting settled, but I plan to use my extra 3-4 hours a day to prepare healthy meals and get to the gym!

Anybody else just beginning? I'd love a motivation partner!

Hello And welcome! I'm, Betsy and I have just started my journey as well. I like what you said about jumping in with both feet. :o) I am just like that. So I too am taking this slow. starting with small baby steps. More water and portion control. I find that I am changing other things too just by being more aware of what is going into my mouth. But then I don't feel as defeated when I have a slip up. Anyway welcome aboard, I look forward to loosing with you!

Welcome, welcome :)

I know what you mean about eating late. My DH also works nights and it's just not the same having dinner without him! It's hard...

Welp, good luck!

Welcome aboard! When we were newlywed DH was in grad school and I was working 12 - 14 hour days. We would eat a big meal and then completely crash. I wish we had gotten a hold of things early on as you are planning.

Below is a great Maya Angelou poem that Samie posted. Read it through and then ask yourself again if your DH sees you realistically or not. :-) Usually we are the ones who tie our value and our beauty to our size, not the people who love us. All the best, Annie

PHENOMENAL WOMAN
by Maya Angelou

Pretty women wonder where my secret lies
I'm not cute or built to suit a model's fashion size
But when I start to tell them
They think I'm telling lies.
I say
It's in the reach of my arms
The span of my hips
The stride of my steps
The curl of my lips.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally
Phenomenal woman
That's me.

I walk into a room
Just as cool as you please
And to a man
The fellows stand or
Fall down on their knees
Then they swarm around me
A hive of honey bees.
I say
It's the fire in my eyes
And the flash of my teeth
The swing of my waist
And the joy in my feet.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally
Phenomenal woman
That's me.

Men themselves have wondered
What they see in me
They try so much
But they can't touch
My inner mystery.
When I try to show them
They say they still can't see.
I say
It's in the arch of my back
The sun of my smile
The ride of my breasts
The grace of my style.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally
Phenomenal woman
That's me.

Now you understand
Just why my head's not bowed
I don't shout or jump about
Or have to talk real loud
When you see me passing
It ought to make you proud.
I say
It's in the click of my heels
The bend of my hair
The palm of my hand
The need for my care.
'Cause I'm a woman
Phenomenally
Phenomenal woman
That's me.

Welcome to the board. I began my lifestyle change just before Christmas. The ladies here have been very helpful. I too am able to relate to ur story. I used to diet alot and I'd loose some weight.........gain it all back and then some. Now I have forgotten about dieting and decided that I would look at this journey as a lifestyle change. Its a little easier for me this way then saying I'm dieting.

Good Luck you've come to the right place.

Hello and Welcome. You've come to a great place. The ladies here are very supportive. I just joined shortly before Christmas, I think (kinda have a bad memory) and have hit a few rough spots and these ladies have helped me through it. Just look at this as a lifestyle change and not a diet and you'll do fine! Good Luck and again, Welcome. -Susan
