Hello! My name is Ambrosia. I am 25 and I am married with 2 kids. I am a hair stylist/barber and I manage a shop here in Indiana. Ok, enough of all that. When I gave birth to my second baby I got up to 299 lb. January 2005 I got down to 273 when I decided to switch from Mt Dew to diet soda. I would get a 44oz Mt Dew before work to sip on all day and then one 44 oz. mt dew on the way home to sip on all night. Come to find out...that is 1400 calories!!!!! ouch! Swiching to diet soda helped me get back down to my pre-pregnancy weight of 248 over a course of 1 year without me changing anything else, thank God!
Now it is January 2007 I started the gym the day after Christmas. I also decided to change my food habits. We all are doing this at work. I am moving to Myrtle Beach in June 2007 so I gotta look GOOD for my new life at the beach. (My husband grew up there and I want his X to be green with envy...and I want to be the hottest chick in the whole city!)Haha!
I am not so good about the gym. I go only 3 times a week. I eat 1 slim fast shake for breakfast. A mid day snack (bananna or string cheese or 100 cal pudding). For lunch 1 healthy choice meal. I may have another snack. I have a Healthy Choice meal for dinner or Smart Ones. I am usually bad and eat a sorta big bowl of bran flakes with skim milk for late night. So far I have lost 4 lb.
I am here to meet some new friends who are in the same frame of mind. I would love to have a journal buddy to help hold accountability. Help eachother ya know. I am already motivated and I am already doing everything I should be doing. I just think having a buddy can help for the long run. My goal is to be below 200 which I have not seen since 8th grade. Thanks guys! xo, Ambrosia

Hi and welcome in advance to South Carolina! I live in the upstate about 5 hours from Myrtle Beach. It sounds like you are doing very well so far. I'd love having an online journal buddy for accountabilty as well. So far I'm doing ok with the eating part, but the exercise is an issue for me. I have an exercise bike and rowing machine that I have GOT to start using consistently. I prefer walking, but it's cold here now and dark when I get home from work. I know if I would get consistent with the exercise it would become a habit. I've also been reading about Bob Greene's new book The Best Life Diet and would really like to read that. I think it might motivate me even further.
Good luck!
Sweetie, I was with you right to the end...but all I can say is 'Go Patriots!'
Maybe after Tom Brady shows Peyton a few things we can be friends...
Three times a wek at the gym is great...
Best wishes on your journey, and I'll send you some kleenex on Sunday!

Hi Ambrosia, I'm Susan and I just wanted to welcome you to the board. I'm right next door to you in Ohio. South Carolina is a great place! I envy you for moving there this summer. If you ever get tired of Myrtle Beach and want a quiet retreat for a week or a weekend, go to Pawleys Island. It's not too far away from there. It's a nice family place that my family went to for years when my sister and I were growing up. And we are going back this summer! In my opinion it's much nicer than Myrtle Beach and MUCH MUCH quieter! Really laid back and like I said QUIET!!!! LOL Myrtle Beach is much too trendy IMHO. One time I was in the ocean at Pawleys Island ofcourse and here comes this string bikini floating in the water and it was HOT PINK and I said to my mom, this must of floated down from Myrtle Beach because you certainly don't see women on Pawleys Island wearing string bikini's!!!!! LOL But Myrtle Beach has great restaurants and great shopping! Sounds like you are doing excellent on your life style change and keep up the good work! You can do it!
