Prejudice Towards Weight

I don't have 100 pounds to lose, but I need to get started. I need to lose about 70. I gained 20 pounds over the holidays. So, went from 50 to 70. I have some new friends who are all size 9, 6, 4, etc. I met them through a relative who is equally as small. EVERYTIME we all get together someone brings up staying thin, not gaining weight, exercising, etc.
Hearing this as part of the routine at gatherings made me really realize how much some women HATE fat and it has made me wonder how many women transfer that dislike to people they perceive as fat. I strongly feel that many people have a huge dislike for fat women. I always thought men did, but I think women are equally as bad.
If I were ever to be a "thin" person, I would love making a comment about this. Especially when someone asks if I am happier and feel better about myself. I would be very tempted to say that there had been a major drawback to weight loss. It broke my depth perception meter. I could no longer tell the superficial people from the ones with true depth. I could no longer see the shallow man or woman who thought me not quite as equal or worthy because I was heavy. Being thin, I lost the ability to see that and it was an advantage I lost when I lost weight.
I know that weight loss is good for health and being too heavy is not the best, but neither are a lot of other things thin people do that doesn't gain quite the negative attention. I think this is one reason it has been hard for me to completely lose weight. I feel a strong resentment about not measuring up when I truly would feel content. I know I could probably accept myself heavy, but I don't think all my opportunities are there because that is the way our society operates. So, I lose weight more because I "have to" to realistically reach my potential. Health and looks.
Has anyone here ever experienced any personal experiences as adults with weight prejudice?

Did I ever!! Weight discrimination is just so popular that people think it's normal. Starting from people eyeing you at restaurants to see how much you're eating.. although the skinny girl beside you can be eating twice the size of that ice cream, but nobody looks at her, or maybe its OK with her to eat that since she's so skinny. All the way up to refusing to give you a job just because you are fat (didn't happen to me personally but know people who faced this).
I'll shut up now because I can go on forever on this rant!
