I started Weight Watchers rather impulsively this week and hadn't had time to grocery shop yet, so I went to McDonald's to buy lunch today.

Mary,
I hear the sounds of success in your recent posts - that you are in the right place in your life to do this...
I drank my coffee black for years until I went to Austria and the coffee was so strong I had to put cream in it...and was hooked. So now, my day to day drink is tea, and coffee gets saved for a treat...although if the choice is milk or black, I still do black.
May the road rise to meet you!

I travel alot for work and often eat by myself so I hate to go to sit down restaurants. So I'm always seeing where I can pick stuff up and take it back to my hotel room after a nice walk. McDonald's is not an awful choice. The Asian Chicken Salad is low calorie and low fat ... I love the little mandarin oranges in it and almonds are one of the best nuts for you! Subway is good too if you don't include cheese or mayo .. you can load up on veggies as toppings which have more flavor anyway. Wendy's chilli is great and the broccoli and cheese potato is 330 calories with just 2g of fat ... you can't go crazy and add the rest of the stuff like bacon and sour cream ... but that's a filling meal all on it's own. Little side salad with lowfat ranch adds just 140 calories and 9 g fat.
All the fast food companies seem to have great interactive tools on their websites where you can play with what your meal choices might be before you go. I find it helpful to just refresh my memory every now and then so when we make an unexpected stop somewhere I have some idea of what is within my 'allowance' or at least a much healthier choice than the big mac and fries options.

Great job!! You're doing fantastic and seems like you're really focused.
Are you doing WW's online this time? or are you going to meetings as well?
