Thanks for your tips I am doing ok with staying away from most of the comfort food. My mom's friend sharon was actually thoughtfull enough to make some diet friendly comfort foods. She baked me a carrot cake made with splenda instead of with all that sugar. It was pretty good. It was the first cake I had other than last week for my birthday. She also made me baked chicken fingers coated in special k cereal. Her thoughtfulness was appreciated very much. My favorite though had to be the turkey wraps in a veggie tortilla shell I never woulda thought of that. I think I'm gonna ask her for the recipes. Thanks again ladies!!!!!

That was so nice of the neighbor to make special dishes for you and the chicken sounds yummy, as do the wraps. The carrot cake would sound yummy too but I am allergic to artificial sweeteners.
One think I have been told is to not deny yourself. I have been steadily losing and for the most part I watch and am strict with what I eat. I will have a small piece of dessert abut once a week. I even made BBQ ribs and cheesy potatoes and had a little bit and a big salad. I did give up my soda completely and am enjoying the water.

I am also an emotional eater and it got worse when I gave up smoking. My only other vice was soda! And I was drinking alot everyday. I work retail and I get 2 breaks and a lunch/dinner, there were 3 sodas and most of the time I would have a fourth on the way home and that is not counting what I drank at home. I cannot drink diet, so that was not an option. When I decided I needed to watch what I ate and to live a healthier lifestyle, I just stopped the soda altogether. I had a headache for 2 days and that was it. Now if I want something else I will have unsweet tea or put lemon. I like iced tea with fresh lemon and orange. I always have a glass of juice in the morning and sometimes I will have a small glass of choc milk (I buy it pre-made from work with 1% milk) at work I will either have a vitamin water or a cranberry juice the rest of the time it is water. Next week it will be a month since I changed my eating/drinking, now I need to get into an exercise routine. I feel better, sleep better and my skin looks better. I am just now seeing my clothes fit a little differently. While I lost a bit more than 10#'s, I think of it as 10% as I will be happy to weigh 150 again!
Last week I went to Cracker Barrel with my mom and I had a salad and then we split a coca cola cake. I try to limit myself to once a week. Friday is my 16th wedding anniversary, if we go out (we may be snowed in) I will eat a more healthier dinner but will probably share a dessert.
I have decided with every 10 #'s I will do something just for me or buy me a little something with something bigger at 50 and 100 #'s.
Now that I wrote a book it is time to get ready for work.

Your mom's friend sounds like an amazing cook.. can I borrow her for a while (I'm kitchen-challenged LOL).
Seiously though, it's very thoughtful of her. And it's great that you're feeling a bit better and under control. {{{hugs}}}
