Hi... I'm new here and am hoping that joining a discussion group will help keep me motivated. I was doing well for a couple of months last fall until sick kids and holidays derailed me. Not only did I fall off the wagon, I got caught under the wheels and trampled by the horses pulling it! LOL
I keep seeing people post numbers... ex: 200-150-100...
How do the "numbers" work? Is it... was weight - current weight - goal weight?
Current weight - weight to lose - goal weight?
My highest was 278, I'm currently 271, and want to get to 139.
Can anyone recommend a good exercise video for a beginner's beginner? I am interested in the dance-based videos... belly dancing, salsa, etc.

the numbers are current weight/present weight/goal weight.
you might look into Denise Austin's new dance mix. its light to moderate intensity and fun. also any of the Leslie Sansone tapes are great. I would suggest going to your local library and take out a couple there before investing. most libraries have a decent selection.

I am pretty sure she meant start weight/current weight/goal weight. I joined in here about a month ago and have found it to be very helpful so far. There are some great people here and I think having the support of people who understand will make a world of difference. I have tried out a couple of home tapes so far with mixed success. None yet were dance related. Although I really want to get a game called Dance Dance revolution for our play station 2. You follow dance moves on a mat and there is even an exercise mode. It sounds like a blast. I agree with sue, before you spend the $$ see if there are any at your local library or (if you have any) Local thrift/resale shops. Then you can try a variety and decide what you would be most likely to do on your own.
Welcome aboard!

Hi and welcome!
I think that Sue explained the numbers to you. Sorry to hear that you fell off the wagon. I'm coming off being trampled by the team too and feel like I'm starting over in many ways! I second the Leslie Sansone recommendation. Her series is called Walk Away the Pounds and she's been making them for years. They are easy to do and Leslie is easy to take. (I don't respond well to cheerleader types and am even more annoyed by drill sergeants.) Great to have you with us! Annie 252/236.5/156
