So many temptations, so little time

Yesterday was the kind of day that makes me wonder if God doesn't want me to be fat after all (for the record, I know S/He doesn't).
I arrived at work to discover that Mr. Big Boss had brought my favorite kind of donuts for the office (he, of course, is depressingly trim and fit-looking in spite of having a sweet tooth the size of the rest of his body).

Way to go with Surviving! I commend you on a job well done!!
IT is so very hard to resist temptation ESPECIALLY when you have a love for such things....I am with you on the spare ribs......YUMMY, hard to resist. I wish you luck surviving the rest of the weekend and the next week!!
Wishing you a big reward at the scales as well.

I think that strong response to temptation is commendable! We all have too much practice at giving in, and so resistance seems out of place. Maybe you can visualize each time you say "no" as earning you an extra minute of stamina on your Ireland trip. (I'd count one for each donut you usually munched on, one for each of the ribs, and one each for the fast food and beer. That's 7! :-) It'll starts to add up fast over the course of the days and weeks!) Sending you positive vibes for your weigh in! Annie
I liked the part about arguing with yourself! I do that all the time! Great job on making the good choices and I do hope there is a reward for you on Wednesday!
When I have a very stressful day ... I actually scream and howl in the sanctuary of my car driving home ... it's stress relief ... beats crying and doesn't actually impair driving and it's just the physical relief I need ... I do try to do this in moving traffic versus bumper to bumper so as to not make others wonder what's going on.
:)
Mary,
I think you are stronger than you know or that you give yourself credit for...and every time you make a good decision it makes it easier to make the next good decision.
For me, changing how I think about myself has been a huge part of this. I no longer think 'I'm the kind of person who needs chocolate to deal with a problem' I think 'I'm the kind of person who makes good choices' and I have some evidence of that - and you have that about yourself too!
On another note, are you rooting for the Colts tomorrow? After two weeks of denial after my Patriots lost, I've decided to throw in with Peyton and our once beloved and still very cute Adam Vinatieri and root for them...hope we're on the same side! Or at least that we see a good game!
Have a healthy, happy Super Bowl Sunday!

I'm a total football junkie, and I normally wouldn't miss the Super Bowl for anything.
